Is it worth making a thread for a topic you have so little to talk about that the title is actually longer than your first post?

That aside, every single website on that list is/was a website used for illegal sharing and downloading. Regardless of your stance on piracy, mentioning fascism as if preventing it were a breech of freedom of speech is blowing it well out of proportion.

I don't know why they even try. By now they should've realized all their actions have been futile.

Well, China does have a history of making knock offs, even flat out stealing logos from various business entities with only the slightest alterations in names. So her trying this may make some sense from that point of view.

Isn't that what the US did when it was trying to catch up to England? (textile industry nod nod)

Who is 'China'? The Chinese government copies logos from foreign brands?

Vote for freedom of knowledge, vote to end venture capital's monopoly on the flow of information, vote for the Pirate Party.

While i understand your point, even when attempting to look at the situation from the perspective of an inhabitant of a country where fake brands are common, comparing the enforcement of copyright laws to fascism is preposterous.

I want to be able to watch films & series for free even though they cost people a lot of time, effort and money to make and this is more important to me than other political issues.

One could argue that traditional parties taking the time to block all these websites and pass censurship laws is the waste of time and money. Many of these corporations still have their heads stuck in the 90's. They should leave the torrent sites as they are and let the market come up with solutions. Netflix, Spotify and Steam help the fight against illegal downloads a lot more than any of these legal/political persecutions.
