Now even the U.S. is backpeddling, realizing things have just gone one step too far.

The United States believes that the Russian jet shot down by Turkey on Tuesday was hit inside Syrian airspace

Meanwhile, more experts are lining-up to agree that President Dr Bashar al-Assad and the Ba'ath movement has netted a strategic victory with this latest buffoonery by Turkey/NATO.

And everyone is agreeing Turkey will be slowly bled before it is finally made to eat its just dessert -

Russia is now Turkey’s second-largest trading partner and 60% of its natural gas comes from Russia.

Felgengauer: "We Can Always Nuke Turkey"

The chances of war between Russia and Turkey are now "most likely", claimed one of Moscow's most respected military analysts.

Pavel Felgengauer said Ankara is seeking to protect a zone in northern Syria controlled by its allies, the Turkmens. After the downing of the the Russian warplane on Tuesday, Moscow must either accept this zone "or start a war with Turkey" which it could only win by going nuclear, he said.

"It is most likely that it will be war," said Felgenhauer, an analyst for liberal Novaya Gazeta.

NATO to Turkey: "You're On Your Own!"

Meanwhile, like it did with France, the flacid NATO coalition (what is now proving to be the most unreliable alliance since Chris Brown and Rihanna) is already crumbling ... and it's only been 24 hours!

If you’re worried that Turkey’s going to use Article 5 of NATO to drag the U.S. and other western nations into a hot war with Russia, don’t be. Sounds from this response like NATO will fall apart before anyone goes to the mat for the Turks.

NATO ambassadors called on Ankara to show “cool-headedness” on Tuesday following an emergency meeting in Brussels, after Turkey shot down a Russian warplane near the Syrian border, diplomats said.

Diplomats present at the meeting told Reuters that while none of the 28 NATO envoys defended Russia’s actions, many expressed concern that Turkey did not escort the Russian warplane out of its airspace.

NATO represents America's foothold in Europe. If any event occurs that causes the little countries to question America's sincerity, Europe will bolt like a scared rabbit. If you suddenly found out your insurance company wouldn't pay, would you keep your policy? Washington is in a panic now, desperately trying to deescalate so a situation doesn't develop in which Russia calls the Great Bluff of the American defensive umbrella.

Not sure where you get your make believe news.

The fact is and has been verified, The Russian jets had 10 warnings over 5 minutes.

Heck, Saxi, I remember how you bragged about Russians chasing off of Israeli jets a few short weeks ago.

It's now obvious that you are not an American citizen, but a Russian stooge to fill this forum with Russian propaganda.

Again Soviets, not Russians, you idiot... Both planes were quite off route, and not where they were suppose to be.

As you say dead Dukasaur is good Dukasaur.

Downed in 17 seconds? Where Turkey’s story of Su-24 violating airspace just doesn’t add up

I presume the Kurds in Turkey will get high wind in their back now... And Turkish attack aircraft's in Syria/Iraq would be considered as legitimate targets. I presume the revenge will come eventually.

It gets better and better!

1. Russia has announced it's moving the S-400 batteries to Latakia (freshly conquered by the Syrian Arab Army). That will effectively make the southern 1/3 of Turkey a no-fly zone for Turkey's own air force, like northern Israel became for the IDF once the Two Red Banners Caspian Fleet was moved into Tartus. With Turkey unable to operate in the southern half of its own country it's going to be impossible to keep a lid on the Kurdish insurgency. Turkey is about to become the next Sri Lanka ... but on the EU's doorstep.

BOOM BOOM BOOM

Image

2. AINA reports that the Turkish Army destroyed 13 PKK garrisons right after the Russian plane attack. This is an AINA release so isn't confirmed but, if true, it's hard to imagine America keeping the Kurdistan Regional Government on its side past the weekend. (The pundits may be right - this will be the biggest realignment of players in the M.E. in a quarter-century.) Why does America need enemies when it has friends like Turkey?

Turkey's democratic opposition has denounced the Turkish attack on Russia as having been "planned in advance."

Meanwhile, mass pro-democracy demonstrations against Erdogan have been scheduled for Istanbul for the weekend. I'll be interested to see what the body count is come Monday after Erdogan sends in the army with guns blazing again. Turkey is spiraling out of control by itself ... just these few little pushes from Russia will probably be enough to move things from chaotic to apocalyptic.

Hard to imagine how the EU will be able to deal with the implosion of the Turkish state on top of everything else it's facing; based on the battering the FTSE and DAX took yesterday it looks like Europe is already ruining its underwear.

Wow duk, taking a hard line stance. Always be objective, look at both sides, what are the real objectives and who benefits the most, first step how many countries involved have political elections coming up, second how many of the involved are being nudged by what is happening in their home countries need to refocuse attention elsewhere? Who has the least to lose from those above? That is who has the biggest bargaining chip right now.
