2015 Events

Here is where you post the good and/or bad events that happened to you in 2015.

I'll start.

In 2015 I lost a friend or two every month except 2. They varied in age from 18 to late 70's. It was the year of death to me.

This year I visited both the Nanjing Massacre memorial and an old concentration camp outside Berlin. Upon comparing the two I was reassured to see how thoroughly Germany reflects upon the brutalities of its recent past, and it gave me hope that some day soon Japan will also face up to its ignoble behavior in the 20th century and help Asia to move on just as Germany and the rest of Europe have.

they recently apologized to S. Korea for the whole "comfort women" thingy...
ps - sorry to hear that, notyou2. i guess i should have been telling you to shop for dress pants instead of shorts, unless east coasters think wearing shorts to funerals is acceptable.

I lost a friend to mental illness last year. (2014)

I called an ambulance out twice in two days for a friend this year (2015). Today he told me that he was happy, and was glad it was a new year.(2016)

An almost complete apology for just one of the various atrocities committed by the Japanese Empire during the war. Whoop de doo.

It's a start, and pretty surprising from what I experienced.

Don't knock this, doing this was a significant move.

In 2015 I got married and my first child was born. Sometimes there's no need to complain. I'm grateful for everything I have.
