Across the three teams I played for during that time I saw one person break their back playing juniors, but other than that I can't recall anyone ever breaking a bone in a game.

Leave 'm. He doesn't understand that in most sports you might strain/bruise a muscle, but actually breaking a bone is pretty rare.

You play to win in a good league, the injuries severe and light will happen.
In America you can break bones in baseball, softball, football and even lacrosse. But, playing in leagues where fun for the game with lousy players and laughable talent....well you might as well play in a coed sport.

"Can break bones" is not the same as 'likely to break a bone'. As I said, you're much more likely to injure your muscles and tendons than you are of breaking a bone.

Waaw, not arguing the facts that you are more likely to tear a tendon or pull a muscle.
All my friends who played contact sports have had broken bones, but we all suffered torn ligaments and pulled muscles. Playing basketball and breaking a finger or two is common.

Tell that to this guy:
Bones don't often break in football, but whenever it does occur it's usually a bone that snaps in two.
@bernie as for your basketball reference. That's why in football( soccer) goalkeepers have metal pieces in their gloves to protect fingers..

No I didn't. As I said, these occurences are rare.

I had dumped a dirt bike in some gravel the summer before my senior year in high school, and the bike came down pretty hard on my leg. My ankle was messed up for a while, and 11 years later my right ankle bone is still larger than the left. I couldn't afford to go to a doctor, so who knows? My ankle makes a crick noise when I rotate it that the left doesn't.
