There's a stone embedded in my front bumper where, before I attained sentience, my former owner crashed into a mountain while driving me. That was the first big thing that hurt me.

Across the three teams I played for during that time I saw one person break their back playing juniors, but other than that I can't recall anyone ever breaking a bone in a game.

Leave 'm. He doesn't understand that in most sports you might strain/bruise a muscle, but actually breaking a bone is pretty rare.

You play to win in a good league, the injuries severe and light will happen.

In America you can break bones in baseball, softball, football and even lacrosse. But, playing in leagues where fun for the game with lousy players and laughable talent....well you might as well play in a coed sport.

"Can break bones" is not the same as 'likely to break a bone'. As I said, you're much more likely to injure your muscles and tendons than you are of breaking a bone.

Waaw, not arguing the facts that you are more likely to tear a tendon or pull a muscle.

All my friends who played contact sports have had broken bones, but we all suffered torn ligaments and pulled muscles. Playing basketball and breaking a finger or two is common.

Well Football(soccer) is also a contact sport and during the 8 years I played it I only witnessed a bone breaking once. So stop acting like everyone who has never broken a bone is a pussy.

Tell that to this guy:

Bones don't often break in football, but whenever it does occur it's usually a bone that snaps in two.

@bernie as for your basketball reference. That's why in football( soccer) goalkeepers have metal pieces in their gloves to protect fingers..

I never had a regular break. But I had an injury to my ankle that, in retrospect, may have been a crack in the malleolus or possibly the talus. I had dumped a dirt bike in some gravel the summer before my senior year in high school, and the bike came down pretty hard on my leg. My ankle was messed up for a while, and 11 years later my right ankle bone is still larger than the left. I couldn't afford to go to a doctor, so who knows? My ankle makes a crick noise when I rotate it that the left doesn't.

Left arm in the 4th grade. Playground was covered in snow and ice. I was getting off the ground when a classmate slid on some ice right when I was pushing myself up. Landed right on the arm and I was in a cast for a few weeks. Though, it took about a day to really realize something was wrong. Namely when I went to karate class that night, and every movement hurt like hell.
"Eh, whatever."

Broke my collarbone playing football. I figure that's "shoulder" in the poll.

Yay, I was gonna put collarbone in the poll, but figured that people would be able to make that exact leap.
