Global Chat no longer takes "?" or *

I am dismayed that Global Chat can no longer take a simple "?" or "*". The ? is handy when you aren't sure if someone is joking or not and really needed when you don't understand. The * I use to communicate themes like *love* *dancing* or *flowers*. Please bring back @ # $ % ^ & * and the others. It adds a lot to Global Chat.
