That is correct, it is a health emergency and not the rise of military dictatorships. In a democracy you're just expected to mind public health in your job.

How long does this health emergency last?

Is it over yet? If not, what is the criteria that will help determine when this Crisis (Health Emergency) is over?

I am glad you asked, it is a contagion so it keeps getting worse until we ALL make a sustained effort.

No, the Spanish flu ended without ā€œALL making a sustained effort.ā€

The Pure Bloods are going to win this. The rulers are scared to death as they realize that - despite their best efforts - they only got 70% fully vaccinated but now everyone needs to get a third shot to be fully vaccinated. And soon - like Israel just announced - everyone will need a fourth shot. Every shot they add, millions more will draw the line, rebel, and join us. The moment they gambled their government on a leaky, garbage vaccine that they overpromised, they lost.

They're like the Japanese celebrating Pearl Harbor; cheering a battle in a war they can't possibly hope to win. The next world belongs to us.

So what is correct? Because the only firm position you've taken so far is that teenagers should be vaccinated and, as noted above, the world's medical experts disagree so that's clearly not a course of action we should be taking.

It is the opposite, if the shots are all we try then they are all we have, but if you make an effort we can say f*ck off to big pharma. Big pharma winning the day was Trump's only idea. It is a shit ending. That is not what I want either. So let's make some other efforts to contain the fucking virus, eh?

A period of vaccinations, and no school, and rolling lockdowns of non-essential businesses, and an entirely new home curriculum for lockdowns, because a bunch of kids is cycling around with criminals and a bunch is hanging with pedo teachers online and a bunch is getting their piano tuition in, and the government needs to set a budget for it, for home educational resources, and just a lot of taking the virus seriously, and optimistically, not apologising...

It is not what we have been doing, and idk what you are calling a pureblood, saxitoxin, but whatever I am I am not winning.

lol what the actual f*ck are you on about?

Quite honestly this does not read like the post of someone who would benefit from spending more time in lockdown. You sound one curfew away from painting a face on a football and making it your new best friend.

It's not a sacrifice of the children, and it is true that people making the arguments you make have worsened the situation.

Specifically regarding vaccines for teens, if they are not also mixing in school and then of course outside school with family and in public, I am not particularly insistent, and there is dissent among professionals. But my point is to take every precaution anyway, and a good many professionals did not have those doubts.

Hospital doctors, medical doctors in medical journals, have not been as split on these subjects as many in the mainstream media. For my part I asked a doctor who is working a covid ward if I should start up my events and he was discouraging, and tbh he is not normally risk-averse at all, so that is my standard for now. Incomes depend on it, and so does health. A lot of people I was around are vulnerable. A couple of people have died. One had wanted to stay with me. he died in someone else's house. As for others carrying on, it is a contagion. You can't now in good faith put performers on shared mics in front of small audiences. If you look in pubs and bars that stay open, they are none of them educating their clientele, and it is not possible to avoid crowds. Many employers are also not passing on the message to their less informed staff. So what I am about, is discussing it sensibly, and to hell with your political agenda, this just shows it up as empty BS. If we talk politics it is to complain that governments are shitty. That is all the politics. It's a medical emergency. Just is.

The JCVI said the benefit of vaccinating not-at-risk teens is so incredibly marginal that it's not actually a precaution, which is why they refuse to recommend doing it (despite the government trying to pressure them into doing so).

That's a fair question - sorry, I wasn't specifically talking about your politics - it doesn't help that someone else is talking shite about "pureblood" and you are celebrating that, but it is American politics that attach the virus response to Democrat vs Republican ideals. In the UK, tbf, that isn't as universally the case, but the worst-case-scenario-I-just-thoughta logic is dictating the equating of mandating temporary health provisions and restrictions with fascism, which includes military dictatorship and ethnic persecution. A lot of politics is pushing a vision of worst-case-scenarios, and I am pushing we already don't want it any worse; and it is a mistake (or sabotage) to frame everything as serving a political agenda, or we won't coordinate when it is needed. I did write, in the post you quoted a bit of, that my point hadn't been to make teenagers take a particular precaution, but I am against any playing this situation down.

Think it works both ways tbh. The people ranting about Nazism are nuts but then so are the people like KB, dishing out the death threats whenever they see someone without a mask. Thankfully the 95% of the population who don't use Twitter aren't that insane though.

I admit bashing any government will trigger a partisan response, even I do it a bit.

But of course responding to an emergency isn't a good moment for democracy in full swing, it is a situation that does force us to be a galvanised society, and the fair thing to do, that maybe our government weakly sort of tried at the beginning, is make efforts to get people to learn what a virus is, what this virus does, what hospitals are facing etc. and consider it a practical matter for a personal and group response, and manifestly the overwhelming majority of governments are not policing their citizens so closely that anyone need fear it is a military conspiracy or anything; so everyone is educated then.

Most workers I have met, and the very young kids who I was talking about cycling round the estate, yelling "I'm gonna f*ck you up" at an old man (easily taught not to do that with a few words from my awesome self; I know kids are easily inspired if schools give them a better curriculum, worthwhile activities), and the people in the beer garden, cannot say what a virus is. The only conspiracy trying to keep them down is big business that wants lackeys and minimal competition, that then demands its cut of any welfare in a lockdown.

The working class should be given a better standard of education and the sort of resources middle class kids have (that is why I said piano tuition, but it is a tongue-in-cheek example. I had Encyclopedia Britannica at my disposal when I was a wee bairn and it dates but honestly, it taught me to recognise proper general research as opposed to the shite that flies round the web). When you were at school did they ever give you a field guide with your textbook, something you could go out with to enjoy educating yourself? Did they ever teach you photography in art class? Actual stuff we should be good at.

And employers should be providing for evening education. Most solutions to the class divide imo require just a bit of learning and a bit of confidence. I don't care if that's left-wing, because a government could provide the space and resources, or right-wing, because employers and even profiteers eg recruitment companies, could provide those. I'm not trying to be communist, we just can't be surrounded by ignorance and misery every time there is a problem to discuss.

Sure, it always goes both ways, lefties and righties make it political.

I've not had covid that I know of but I've only had to take 1 test since the shit started. I know a lot of people that have had it at varying levels of illness. It really took it out of my youngest daughters grandma but she's not the fittest of people. The majority seemed to shrug it off after a few days and some had it very mildly.

Got floored by it for a week. 2nd week felt alot better to where it felt like a mild cold. That was the initial outbreak though. Haven't been sick since.

I had what was basically a cold for 3-4 days, had a very faint cough that lingered for another week or two, and then was better. Probably would've got better faster if I hadn't worked through it.

Nice I have an impact.

No, I could give a squirt of piss about that fool. Don't believe a word he / she types, nor do I care. Plus, those degenerates across the pond handle shit in their own weird way (the obnoxious faceless posters, not the cool people).

Plus, I assume shim works alone. In a basement. So....no harm.

When someone I KNOW, in real life, that has a family, and has been TO MY HOUSE, decides to carelessly endanger the world - that bothers me. Don't foam, don't break my shit I've worked hard for. DO rant like a bitch. DO engage if they f*ck with my loved ones.

I don't blame KoolBak for getting angry if he was thinking I was out hugging people and eating tacos.

I presume the way I write caused the misunderstanding.

Way before this thing was going around. Back when I had traditional day jobs, I often would get frustrated with the people who came to work sick to share it.

So many people say, "I can't afford to take a day off."

Great, don't worry about the rest of the crew, some of whom might get too sick to get out af bed later and have no choice but to miss work.

Contactless delivery is interesting. I'm guessing people get angry when it's done right.

My wife had to yell through the door to tell the poor confused Pizza Hut guy,"You can leave it on the steps."

You seem unfamiliar with having to negotiate where to order pizza from with groups of other people.

In addition to that... We are quarantined and being one of the first places to advertise it, Pizza Hut seemed at the time like they would be able to conduct an easy seemless contactless delivery.

I presume Atlas was not an option so I did not even bring them up during discussions.

Wife's favorite place is run by some folks that really seem like they would not be able to handle contactless delivery.

Another place closer than Atlas that our son is in love with because they have butter chicken pizza, would not deliver to us.

I am sure it's worse for your health than other pizza which arguably are already not good but..

Pizza Hut was actually quite delicious this time. Most of the time it is pretty tasty, years ago there was a location that used to deliver to us that was so terrible I dreaded the children demanding we get the slop. At that time I would drive to a different location to pick up better Pizza Hut. Fortunately it closed.

The wife and offspring just went to get a Covid test at the drive in test place. This time we expect the tests to be positive.

Do Pizza Hut restaurants still do those comics with the street animal characters, and the ice cream factory? It's been years since I've seen a Pizza Hut that wasn't just a take away window, so I'm not sure what the sit down places look like any more (if they still exist).
