Today, Biden has displayed America's impotence within Europe in similar fashion:
When asked about Nord Stream 2, the US president said "if Russia invades... again, then there will be longer Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it."
However he did not give specifics, responding to a question about how he would do this by saying: "I promise you we will be able to do it.
No one in Moscow, Paris, London, Berlin etc. really cares what Biden thinks, because Washington has zero capacity to act independently in Europe or to bully European nations into reading from America's script. Europeans will do what is best for Europe, which is cooperating with each other and ignoring American bluster.
Will Ukraine be the moment the US has its diplomatic pants pulled fully down in front of the world? Or will the US find a face-saving way to abandon its sabre rattling and live to bluster another day?
