Note how Jim immediately jumped in and started denouncing Dr. Drew. However, when Gary cited a guy who is a master's degree student at a second-tier college in Malaysia to try to debunk three different peer-reviewed articles I posted that raised concerns about the dangers of the vaccine, Jim was silent.
Is Dr. Drew a COVID expert? Definitely not. Is Dr. Drew more qualified to evaluate medical evidence than Malaysian diploma mill student Shin Jie Yong? Yes.
Why did Jim do that? It's called Selective Response and is a common method of psychological coping when faced with existential stress (i.e. when you have a time bomb inside you that can't be turned off).
Pronger collapsed and suffered commotio cordis when a puck struck his chest during a 1998 Stanley Cup playoffs game when he was a member of the St. Louis Blues. Commotio cordis is when a person experiences a trauma to their chest that can cause additional waves of electricity to pass through their heart muscle. Those waves can throw off the heart's normal rhythm, which can potentially be deadly.
Pronger was unconscious for an estimated 20 seconds and ended up spending the night in the hospital. Once he woke up, he didn't have any recollection of what happened, but was back on the ice four days later.

Inadequate support: The study only included myocarditis and pericarditis diagnoses made at least ten days after a positive SARS-CoV-2 test, when patients are recovering, but not cases during COVID-19 itself. The study also included only a limited subset of myocarditis and pericarditis diagnostic codes, leaving out in particular diagnostic codes specific for myocarditis associated with viral infection.
Cherry-picking: Multiple large-scale studies reported an increased risk of cardiovascular complications associated with COVID-19, including myocarditis and pericarditis, which are ignored by claims like this.
Overall, the study by Tuvali et al. doesn’t provide sufficient evidence for the claim that COVID-19 doesn’t increase the risk of myocarditis and pericarditis, owing to limitations associated with its design. It’s also insufficient to overturn the scientific studies reporting that COVID-19 does increase the risk of myocarditis and pericarditis, and that this risk exceeds that of the risk from COVID-19 vaccination.

Lisa Marie Presley has died
What we know so far
Just in: Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter of Elvis Presley, has died, her mother announced. She was 54.
Presley was rushed to the hospital on Thursday after suffering a cardiac arrest.

New York City health officials warn that the latest Omicron subvariant that is making up the majority of COVID-19 cases may be more likely to infect people who have been vaccinated than previous variants.

Paul Offutt wrote:Why did the strategy for significantly increasing BA.4 and BA.5 neutralizing antibodies using a bivalent vaccine fail? The most likely explanation is imprinting. The immune systems of people immunized with the bivalent vaccine, all of whom had previously been vaccinated, were primed to respond to the ancestral strain of SARS-CoV-2. I believe we should stop trying to prevent all symptomatic infections in healthy, young people by boosting them with vaccines containing mRNA from strains that might disappear a few months later.

Finally, we assessed the sensitivity of XBB.1pp to neutralisation by antibodies induced by vaccination or vaccination plus breakthrough infection (figure B; appendix pp 1–2). Plasma of triple vaccinated individuals had almost no detectable neutralising activity against XBB.1pp (neutralising titre 50 [NT50] 2).

I recall that statement, and I don't recall anyone arguing against it.
Obviously successful pathogens tend to become more contagious and less pathogenic over time.
The point is not that your statement is wrong, but that it's completely disconnected from the rest of your thesis. It's like you're trying to prove that the sky is blue, and you've just introduced the fact that hedgehogs are mammals, and with a satisfying "harrrumph!" you write Q.E.D. and sit down.
Even if Covid had a 0% mortality rate, even if losing three days off work was the only possible consequence, still that's 3 days of my life I don't want to waste. None of it means anything without the main thread of your thesis that the vaccines are in some way harmful. And that remains completely unproven except by your endless barrage of anecdotal evidence about people who were vaccinated and now are dead. Lot of people who were never vaccinated are dead also. Without a causative link, it's all just Beavis and Butthead arguing about whether lawnmowers cause cancer.

Facts matter. The very issue that you misstate facts gives you less credibility, saxi.
But that is nothing new, that you bend and misstate the facts. You attempt to mislead people by such actions. You continue to try to PEDDLE Fake News. Many of us are not buying it and are calling you on your obfuscation.
Obviously death and hospitalizations are the important numbers and the major concern. How many break-through cases are causing hospitalizations? deaths? Report that and I may be concerned if those numbers are high.
I will predict that:
1) COVID will continue to mutate;
2) future mutations will be more contagious, or at least as contagious as omicron and delta;
3) future mutations will be less virulent and less likely to hospitalizations (less deadly than omicron and delta);

Even I don't know what variant I had, but jp4f does!
I base my conclusion on
1) how flippant saxi has been about how easily he BEAT his alleged round of COVID; and
2) omicron is less virulent and more transmissible.
ERGO, saxi had omicron, the weaker cousin of the virulent delta variant.
That was an obvious and easy conclusion to draw, saxi. I assume you understand basic logic.

What is missing from saxi's discussion of the omicron variant is that it is less virulent (less deadly and less dangerous).

Federal agencies are withholding the data behind recent decisions that relate or may relate to COVID-19 vaccines and severe adverse events, fueling speculation that they are putting both vaccinated and unvaccinated lives at risk.
The Federal Aviation Administration told Just the News it widened the acceptable range of heart rhythms for commercial pilots, who were initially subject to industry-wide vaccine mandates, in light of "[n]ew scientific evidence" that it has yet to specify.
The Oct. 26 update to the heart arrhythmias section of the FAA Guide for Aviation Medical Examiners made two key changes.
The agency raised the maximum so-called PR interval for first-degree atrioventricular block to 300 milliseconds, with no regard to age, on the list of "normal variants" that don't require deferment in the absence of "symptoms or AME concerns."
For intervals longer than 300 ms, the FAA will make the call based on evaluations by examiners. The previous maximum PR interval for AV block was 210 milliseconds, but only in pilots under age 51.
FAA spokesperson Ian Gregor provided a modified version of the statement the agency released last spring after American Airlines pilot Robert Snow blamed his in-flight cardiac arrest on coerced vaccination.
