not really, in the article it is stated that any bugs/exploits that result in the game stopping are to be avoided at all costs. the freestyle tactic stops the game for a full turn

The problem I see with that argument is that there is inherently a wait in CC. Even Freestyle games have a waiting period. In the games like he is mostly talking about, there is none at all, and therefor stopping game play is just boring for everybody and wasting their time and possibly money if they are at an arcade.

On top of that, I'm not sure it counts as a bug or exploit. This has been a known part of freestyle games since well before I joined (although that hasn't been too long, I will admit) and it has been deemed a strategy to use by the makers of the game.

Don't get me wrong, I dislike that part of freestyle, that is why I never play it. I'd be more than happy to have my turns go quicker, but I like not having to worry about people playing the clock, or having to do it myself to be competitive.

if it has been deemed as strategy then why are measures being taking to eliminate it? it is an exploit of the system, simple as that

becasue when enought people complain things will get changed. It may have been intented as a strategy but if enought people are unhappy lack will do something about it.

Well, the issue is now fixed. I think we can put this debate to rest, considering it means nothing anymore?

I wasn't. That is what happens in freestyle. All the best (and many who aren't) at freestyle use the tactic. It pretty much defines freestyle more than even quicker games. It may change in the future, but right now playing the clock is a major part of freestyle.

I don't see the need to use it every turn. I've used it a couple times right now to maximise my card set but thats about it. in my latest finished game I actually wanted to go as early as possible because i had a set and most remaining players had 3 cards. I almost ran it in one turn.

It dosn't really stop the game because someone is always going to go last no mater what and the turn is going to last no more than 24 hours. I do agree if you are planing on going last you need to stay on top of it and be ready to move once your last out of respect for the other players.

wait a minute. What was fixed was delaying your turn to prevent the player who wnet last in the previous turn from getting a turn. Is that what we are talking about? Or just waiting and going last so you can see where people moved and make your plans?

the whole debate was about the freestyle tactic (yes it gone now, i might start some freestyle games yay!) where if you went first in one turn the next turn you could wait till the last five mins or so, quickly take your turn, they miss their turn and get no card and you can go again and start the process again

thank god its gone but you will never convince me that people who resort to this dead tactic are good players

people will simply adapt and find new ways to win the game. Thats how society works.

there is a number of reasons you could be in this poisition, one example would be getting teamed up on jsut becasue your te highest rank.

but if you are on the higher end of players you should be able to deal with these anyway right? afterall if you are a higher rank, shoiuldnt you be expected to deal with times like these without reverting to cowardly tactics?

and besides getting teamed? only works 1v1 unless 2 a group of people do it all at once in agreement

you cant always deal with it, a good player uses what he can to hid advantage within the rules, an honerable palyer would rather not use such tactics maybe, but a good palyer would.
A good player would know when he/she would need to do something like that, and a good honorable player would choose to either not use those tactics except in the extreme emergencies or to take the fall anyway.

That's true, the people who have to resort to not allowing the other player to even play is exceptionally low.
