Swiss man builds minaret

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article6954014.eceMr Morand says that he will appeal any penalty to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, where he is confident of victory. His optimism is shared by Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf, Switzerland’s Justice Minister, who says the amendment is certain to be invalidated by European judges.

It violates the European Convention of Human Rights which they are signed up to. If this does go to court, the article is right, there is no way the judges are going to rule in favour of the Swiss as its a clear violation of religious freedoms guaranteed in the articles.
On a more direct note, this guy is awesome, standing up for liberty and freedoms. Is he even Muslim, didnt read it anywhere, but if he isn't then it'll be even better.

Btw, liberals make a lot of mistakes? At least we don't cause economic crashes, illegally invade the wrong countries, support torture, illegal wire tapping and steal elections.

Tiny percentage, right. Take a walk in Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Londen, Marseille, ... but not in the tourist areas.
And integration is just the part where there are 'some' problems. And that is exactly the reason why we have those problems: because there are to many immigrants...

Okay, I edited it to Amsterdam, even though I also took plenty of walks in all those other cities. (But I'm dutch so I go to amsterdam more often.)
Yeah, it's a tiny percentage. Slotervaart, Osdorp and de Bijlmer have plenty of muslims. But what they have even more are antilianen en surinamers.
And shit, if you really take a walk in Amsterdam, even at this time, what you'll meet are germans, eastern europeans and students. If you want me to quote stats at you till you go crazy just say the word. But honestly, teh muslims are relatively few. Morrocan youth cause trouble, not even close to comparing to inner-city black youth in the US, but it's far from immaneagable and not a problem of Islam but of little scum.

Instead of taking a walk in major cities with typically many immigrants, you could do more credible research on each of these countries' demographics and see that they're composed of a tiny percentage of immigrants.
The problem isn't that there are too many immigrants. Those countries need most of those immigrants for economic reasons. The main problem comes from the "locals" (because never mind those "immigrants" that have lived there for over a generation), the main problem is from the locals' perception and treatment of the immigrants. Many people have problems because they're xenophobic and that they nearly always don't know much about the cultures of those immigrants. The absence of knowledge will create a poorly founded fear and resentment towards the new.

I regularly visit London as I have family there, been to all the tourist areas plenty of time (very nice), but my family live just outside (in Slough in fact, which says enough). Immigrants are not as a big problem as some people try to make out. One of the worst social groups atm in England are actually the white working class (who are primarily the ones who cause most trouble with "immigrants"). I can't comment on the other cities as I have never been outside of the main districts in those, but I can speak for London and I would say that the worst areas are the predominantly white areas in the East End, and even those are better then the ghettos you get in USA filled with blacks or hispanics.

Seriously, I love how when people point out that there are barely any middle easterners in these places (asking "so what" can be even funnier, actually) you get responses like "OK, but I can imagine a dystopian future with them all over the place and, by God, I fear for our country".
