Yet another reason we need to stop the flow of illegal immigrants into this country. Not that they are responsible for the resurgence of the WC, but many diseases could easily cross the border with them.

The REAL reason whooping cough is coming back is so many arrogant yuppies think their kids should not be vaccinated because of all the idiocy conspiracy theories out there. Ironically, Mexicans and other immigrants are very, very happy to have THEIR kdis vaccinated, because they know what a gift they are.

And, vaccination programs are one area that, thankfully, has up until now escaped this "show your ID" garbage. Diseases don't stop at borders! That's why we spend millions sending vaccines to other countries, even those not bordering us!

It's more complex than that. According to a recent NPR report, the average compensation for the vaccine is roughly half the cost of the vaccine. As a result it is a loss leader and for many small family doctors it is a loss they simply cannot afford. So parents who want the vaccine have to go to clinics that are far away and only do the vaccine on certain days with long lines as a result.

It's "bull" to state that as a significant reason for the uptick in whooping cough cases, yes. PLAYER, Queen_Herpes and tzor have pointed out the real reasons and illegal immigrants simply are not one of them.

Numerous studies conducted by really prestigious universities show a plethora of cases of the Red Ass creeping across our borders. The Whooping Cough thing is just a decoy to distract attention from this heinous threat to what's left of our Beaver Cleaver neighborhoods.

Immigrants also have nothing to do with the possiblility of being struck by lightning, therefore we would be safe from lightning if we stopped immigrants.
