Every time he was quoted before Feb. 5, 2012 he has an underscore in his name but every time after that he doesn't (as is his current username).

That is true. Also you can change names if a username reveals personal info. It's a case by case thing. If I wanted to, I could probably change my username because it has part of my name in it. But I don't care that much.

Nope, they should stay! If I'm correct, the foe list foes user ID's, which are permanent for each account, even if the details (things like interests, gender, username, etc) change.

We take requests for minor cosmetic changes to usernames of Premium members. We also take requests for username changes of any member if their username contains personally identifiable information. Because player reputation is important to the integrity of the game, we do not allow any other changes to usernames. Please don't create a second account as that will just get you banned.
