Has anyone suggested this before?
Would be interesting to make a real world map with real borders and countries.
Strategic advantages for places like the middle east (oil), africa (gem stones), russia (minirals) etc.
Real regional areas (50 states of america, eurpean countries etc), bonuses for holding london, washington, moscow etc.
Would it be realistic (as in possible, i know it'd be realistic)?

Re: Real world map
I think that part of the problem that you run into is that you've got to take a global map and condense it enough to fit on the screens here and that will mean that smaller units won't be able to show. For instance, you mentioned the 50 states but they're going to be too small and too condensed to all get on one screen. Also I'm fairly certain that the smaller nations in terms of area such as Monaco or Vatican City would never show. I'm not even sure that you could fit all the Balkin States or even the Baltic States into the scale you have to get to.

DiM was talking about this.

Re: Real world map
It seems the problem is there's a maximum number of territories per map, and that max is smaller than the number of countries in the world. (Plus, the countries - or countries' borders - in certain regions of the world occasionally change.)
Re: Real world map
That's not quite correct... the limit is on the physical size of the map, not on the number of countries... the problems start when you try and fit them all in!Winged Cat wrote:It seems the problem is there's a maximum number of territories per map, and that max is smaller than the number of countries in the world. not really. mine just has the same topic name. this is about getting every country onto a map which I think is basically impossible under the current map guidelines. mine is about having a world map with both water and land territories.
Re: Real world map
