suggestion : note to self

Post by A Mans Part »

similar to the team only chat, could you do something where you leave a note to yourself? Might sound silly, but when you play a bunch of games, sometimes it would be nice to have a quick reminder of what you were trying to accomplish.

Sounds like a good idea .. I believe Tr0y has a greasemonkey script that lets you do that. Go on user scripts.

Lack's already ruled that the 'note to self' is possibly one of the worst suggestions ever. ;)

Pen and pad = Works just fine also.

PM/e-mail to yourself = works just fine also.

I havn't made a script for it. However I did list an extension in the scripts/programs thread.

Sure it seems stupid for one with 4 games... however if you have 40 games and need to make decisions quickly... it's pretty useful.

I am a big enough loser for playing online non-hasbro risk, but carrying a pad back and forth from home to work to keep track of 50 games is even dorkier :)

Yeah. Because getting together with your thirty-something virginal male friends to watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy on Saturday and then spending all night playing Lord of the Rings Risk (the second version, not the lame first version) is so cool. ;-)

I agree, though. Heck, I would I proposed this about 2 days ago. Exactly how much extra code would this be? Hmm.. team chat when there are no team games.

Again, if you don't like pad and paper, PM/e-mail yourself reminders. Easily accessible and organized. ;)

People teach their dogs to sit, it's a trick. I've been sitting my whole life, and a dog has never looked at me as though he thought I was tricky.

You can send yourself a PM. I've done that occasionally.

^^ Even easier ^^ :D

I tried that and didn't like it tbh - too intrusive. I quite like the idea for singles games having the private message area used as a form of note keeping - certainly easier to track what game its for than a pm

You can always use a dry erase markers on your screen. Different colors for different games.

I use the sticky notes that Iceman suggested. They work great, are not a pain in the butt and only took a few minutes from start to finish to download.

I can't play at work so I didn't think of that.

Maybe throw your monitor into the copy machine.

The more I think of it the more using that message area as a note pad makes sense :)
