The government is trying to eliminate the Penny, do you think they should?

I think they are doing it because it costs more to make a penny then what it really costs, I think they should do some gradual deflation to get the penny to cost more compared to all the currencies.

If you really have forty thousand dollars in pennies you may want to melt them down and take in the copper.

well, all new pennies are not made out of copper, they have zinc or a cheaper matierial inside to save money on making them.

ya pennies are useless....you always have alot of pennies on ya and all machienes don't accept pennies, only cashiers and bank tellers accept pennies...so basically useless stuff..just round everything to the nearest 5 cents

It does, it costs 1 1/2 cents to make 1 Penny

THe government makes a pretty profit off those pennies. I have noticed that there is way more pennies in the streets than ever before. Even finding them in bunches. And the canadian penny isnt even copper anymore its steal. Canadian government is makeing more money than the US government off pennies, it takes 14 cents or something ridiculous to make one.

Who has the space to save 1.3 million pennies. Some guy saved that many in 40 years in his garage.

Keep the penny. We can throw them at people who think they are lucky.

The penny isn't even all copper anymore people
They changed how it was made because people were melting down the penny and selling the copper for more than one cent. Now they only put 1 cent worth of copper in it anyways so people can't do it
