Americans: What political party are you part of?

Post by OnlyAmbrose »

Just out of curiosity, I'd like to see how Americans match up on CC in terms of political parties. If you put one of the "3rd party/independent" choices, please state what specifically you consider yourself :)

As for all of us minors, we can just put what we WOULD be if we were old enough to be registered voters. ;)

I personally am a liberal with slight socialist leanings, but i would vote democrat (my friend gives me hell for this) because they have a better chance of getting enoguh votes to get into an office and make a difference than third parties such as progressives.

If you are republican on some other issues(like corporation rights) I'd say we got ourselves a libertarian.

the more radical form of democrat ideology is communist

the more radical form of republican ideology is fascist

they are both moderate forms with less bad side effects.

Actually, that isn't what I meant Kyle. Calling democracy "communism" is idiotic, since communism has a political party (CPUSA) and since democracy doesn't follow the precepts of communism.

It's just as stupid as calling republicans "fascists."

There is a difference between a Democrat and Democracy! It seems a lot of new Americans register to vote as Democrats because they think the party name represents democracy. not true.

Well what's the correct term, Democratism?

Let's see, if a communist follows communism

Then a Democrat follows democram... Democrasm... Democrism...?

Do you mean to say "Democrapism"

I heard something the other day. I found that it rang true...

"The US is made up of makers (Republicans) and takers (Democrats)"
THE DEBATE IS OVER...

Republicans have a moderate form of nationalism. Not fascism. Although often they intertwine.

i heard something as well, the US is made up of Evangelicals who are succeptible to brives by lobbyists (republicans) and the people who acutally run a government (democrats)

Jay, your quote is SOO vague, democarts aren't "takers" and republicans aren't "makers" (if anytihng you should switch it since democrats are pro-government, and republicans are pro-loosening restrictions)

If you're claiming that its democrats who are corrupt, may i remind you of the Abramoff scandal (more republicans were involvded than democrats)

Ah, but both were involved. We are all fallible, and each party is flawed. Each person is flawed. I just happen to be a Republican. Viva la Revolucion. Viva la Reagan!

And truth doesn't change. So why should we loosen the rules that keep the truth the same?
