Both were largely unremarkable. I wouldn't call either good, but they weren't that bad.

And checking it twice?
Not sure that Reagan was the "best," but he was our last great President. Nobody else in recent times can stand with figures like the Roosevelt's, Lincoln, Jefferson, or Washington. The collapse of the USSR, among other successes, is a direct result of Reagan's strategy. He was one of our truly great leaders and is certainly the greatest President of recent times.
Carter on the other hand is the worst President of recent times. He destroyed the economy and his foreign policy was tepid and weak, hence the bungled Iranian Hostage Crisis. In fact, every problem we have with Iran today, and nuclear proliferation in the Middle East in general, can be attributed to the failures of Carter. He's also an anti semite and those houses he built for people reportedly cause terrible skin rashes.
I wouldn't say that one is the absolute best, and the other the absolute worst, but you have identified the best and worst of recent times.

Err... no. If we're playing the Blame American Presidents for Past Events in Iran game, you can thank Eisenhower for overthrowing the democratically elected president of Iraq, Mohammed Mossadeq, in 1953. Although we got 25 more years of cheap oil, I think you'll agree that it probably wasn't worth it.

Here's a question, O Believer in Capitalism:
If Reagan overthrew the USSR, doesn't that mean that Communism could have succeeded without US opposition?
I would counter that Gorbachev and the inherent failings of Communism had more to do with the Soviet Union's fall than anything else. At best, Reagan may have sped it up by a couple years.

How is Carter an anti-Semite...?

No, I'm pretty sure the U.S.S.R. was taken down with hardball economics and stern speeches alone.

How is Carter an anti-Semite...?
We now know Carter is an anti-Semite because he is an intellectual prostitute for the Saudi royal family writing ridiculously one sided anti-Israel books.
But we've always suspected it because he pressured Israel to hand over 90% of the territory it won in the six day war in exchange for a piece of paper promising peace.

who the f is we?
also, failure to unabashedly support Israeli foreign affairs is not anti-Semitism. Overusing that word kills the meaning. Carter's not a freaking anti-Semite.

Good, because I wanted to post here.
As someone said in a recent forum somewhere else (a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away)... people think the "best" and "worst" presidents come from their own generation (i.e. their own experiences). Erego, some stunads are going to think Reagan was the greatest president and some stunads are going to think Carter was the worst, when there are much better candidates for either position throughout the brief history of the United States.
