It's very kitsch! Funny for a minute, but I really hope it won't be like this a long time. On the first look, I was suspicious because that it was the computer worm for the april 1st that we heard of.

You're right, concerning this problem. But I would suggest something like :

10 time the same tag x (if more than 50 ratings, number of ratings left, with or without tags)/50 = amount needed to get this tag posted on your main page.

So, if you achieve to get 10 "Good Teammate" tags only after 100 ...

My suggestion is to program an effect when the same tag is given in the Ratings of somebody X times, for exemple 10 times.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:

⋅ Ratings : critics about Tags (not enough usefull because hard to summerize fast)
