Re: Strategy vs Luck
I tend to view it as similar to poker or some other similar game, ultimately it depends on the number of games (sample size) you're talking about. In any one game luck will always be a far bigger factor than any level of skill/strategy, the best player can lose to the worst player easily if the dice ...

Re: Bonuses
I'm trying to keep my Europe bonuses though, I need it to stay ahead of him in troops.
I got crap dice. I suicided all my troops except those guarding Europe on him.
Your thinking here is flawed. By trying to be cautious and protect your bonus, you're actually harming your chances of winning ...

Re: Bonuses
Yeah yellow didn't take advantage whatsoever. Didn't break Europe and released a 30 stack for the sake of stopping a bonus of 4.
edit - just checked. Again you move a 30 stack somewhere it cannot do anything. Get those 30 stacks to the front line!

Re: Bonuses
always kill your opponants bonus. cause if you dont kill his, and he kills yours. you are 10 armies behind already
This.
Once your own bonuses are compromised, you need to drop all of or as many of his as possible. If a player can break every bonus and establish a lead in territory count it's ...

Re: which risks to take and which one shouldnt take?
The only real answer is "it depends". If it's a move that ensures the game victory and it's likely the one shot of doing so then it's worth taking a big risk. If it results in a small gain but opens up the chance of crippling yourself then be more cautious etc. Entirely dependant on the situation.

Re: Those mistakes that cost you the game
I don't usually make disastrous misclicks or stuff like that but I'm definitely guilty of making moves without truly thinking through the full consequences. I've had a few times where I've done something then immediately though "hmmm, I might have played that better"

Re: world 2.1 question
You don't get them in addition if that's what you mean - the lower bonuses make up part of the full continent bonus. e.g in NA, you get a total of 9 for holding the three lower bonuses, then an additional two for completing the whole continent.

haha. tbf to him it was posted back when the game was in round 3 or so and far from decided. Apparently in the few hours since a number of rounds have passed and he hasn't needed any advice anyway.

Re: When Is the Escalating Juggernaut not a good idea
Never played escalating but having played AoR 2 I find it hard to believe going for bonuses isn't the most optimal route there considering how quickly they snowball.

Re: world 2.1
Oceana's usefulness depends largely on whether a player is playing asia, how far progressed they are compared to you in oceana and (very importantly) how experienced/able the chap in Asia is. Finally, is the Asia player intending to head south, or will they spread east or west?
Assuming the asia ...

Re: world 2.1
My Strategy
Take Oceania and do not let go of it. Its easily defensible and you can pop up all over the map to suppress your enemies.
Oceania is the worst continent to feasibly hold (I say this because of Asia—I mean, c'mon). South America, North America, Africa, and Europe are all better, in ...

Couldn't the other guy just deadbeat his way out of it?

Pretty sure that'll be the case. Speaking from experience they definitely counted for me.

However, my point is that because the dice on CC relies on random number generation statistics and odds are not applicable. You can say that the odds of getting a six from one dice roll are one in six irl...however, a TRULY random number generator, like the one CC relies on doesn't stick to the ...
