Re: Surrender/Resign/Forfeit Button [Rejected]

It makes no sense to start a speed trench game when you don't have time to finish. This isn't going to be implemented. Just finish out your games, it's not a big deal.

Good point.
This is essentially an admission that this feature would add great utility to CC. Perhaps people should not be ...

Re: Surrender/Resign/Forfeit Button [Rejected]

I've played several online games with some sort of "quit" option, and it absolutely makes for a less enjoyable experience when your opponent quits in the middle of the game.
This is understandable. However, this cannot happen if resignation requires the consent of all parties. Alternatively, those ...

Re: Surrender/Resign/Forfeit Button [Rejected]

I don't see why anyone willing to put up with the slow pace of a trench game would not be able to tough out the end of the game. It is possible to speed the end of a casual (24 hr) game by agreeing to play it "in real time", that is, by finding a mutually agreeable time for the remaining players to ...

Re: Surrender/Resign/Forfeit Button [Rejected]

it HAS been abused in the past, heavely abused. I can think of various ways it can be abuse in this day and age.
Trust me, there is no way this suggestion can ever work without heavy monitoring.

If my suggestion has been abused in the past, then please explain to me how . I have yet to see an ...

Re: Surrender/Resign/Forfeit Button [Rejected]

So you want an OPTION (i.e. a box you tick next to "Fog") that allows: "forfeit games when only one other player is left"? That seems like a lot of coding for a relatively rare problem.
Yes, if there is fear that it would somehow be abused (how?), then just make it an option - a tick box.

But ...

Re: resign button for trench warfare

if all players agree in a game the button is pressed by all and ends game. Hardly rocket science
I agree. Alternatively, how can a forfeit button be abused if
1) it is only game *option* so it would likely only be used in game types where it is most needed
2) or it is only available to players who ...

Re: Election map

if you make set starting positions as the strongly-democratic states on one side, and the strongly GOP states on another side, then maybe you could have each state-territory produce reinforcements more (relatively) proportional to their number of electoral votes, and still be able to balance it out ...

wait... I just realized I will not have regular internet access starting May 23, so I guess that means I probably can't play. I would like to join next season, though, if that's possible?

Well I don't see a problem with the deferred armies as the rule stands now. It was probably the fairest way to solve the missed turn issue. I just don't understand why so many concessions should be made for those who constantly miss turns. Some don't mean to and miss unintentionally but too many ...

If anything to this effect is implemented then I feel the "defered armies" b/c of missed turns rule should be done away with. A total of 36 or what ever hours should be more than enough to take a turn. If you still miss after that there is no reason to allow someone to recover missed armies. The ...

The only way I'd back this idea is if the person who missed their turn only got 5 minutes to take their turn when they came on (alternatively make it like a speed game clock where time would be extended if someone was taken out). That way both players could see the game clock at 5 minutes or less ...

I have thought of another issue...

Say - 24 hours pass - P1 misses turn...

23 hours pass - P1 starts turn... thus blocking P2 for an hour... thus missing P2's turn...

P3 then starts a turn... P2 skips because P1 has blocked his last hour...

This is why I advocate the resetting of the clock ...

How about a middle-of-the-road solution?

If you miss your turn, having had 24-hours to take it,
and the next player hasn't yet started, you can take your turn.

If at any point during you late-turn-taking the player whose turn it should be starts his turn,
your turn is automatically ended, similar ...

Since the guy who created this seems to have left the site, does anyone have the code for the dice analyzer? I am unsure if I have the time to make some changes, but if someone could that would be great. I would definitely offer to help with some of the coding too.
