Re: Does anyone else rate people the "correct" way?
I don't take any of the rating as a judgment of how well a player will play, but I do check the ratings just before joining a game just to make sure the players that are already there are not total jerks that have only been rated with 1s and always have negative comments. There are plenty of games ...

Re: Blank values in the first row of selection lists
Right the blank would not override the list, it would just be there in cases where there is no default value. The list is in alphabetical order, so if there is no default value, it will give you the territory that is alphabetically first in the list, which is usually not the one you need to select ...

Re: Blank values in the first row of selection lists
Absolutely! I've been wanting to post about the "No Advance/Advance All" buttons but was too lazy to scour the forums to see who had already suggested it. These features could even be coded as radio buttons in the form that submits your attack. Nothing like a 1 click feature.

Re: Game Finder Search Agents
I must have eaten my Wheaties this morning cause it dawned on me that I could clear the Game Finder search form and save it as RESET. Using DEFAULT it loads my usual game search automatically, but if I want to start from scratch I just load the RESET saved search and it is as good as having an HTML ...

Re: Game Finder Search Agents
Now that I am using the DEFAULT feature of the Saved Searches script it makes me want to have a clear or reset button on the Game Finder screen. Re: Game Finder Search Agents
Thanks, I'll see if I can find the script.
I still think it would be a nice element to the site rather than a separate script that has to be setup. Most new players would not know to look for a script, or even know how to find it.

Re: Redesign ConquerClub.com
All sites need to have their design revisited from time to time, that is the nature of an ever changing digital world. The real problem is in the vast amount of options that are available. From dynamic content coded in AJAX to a skin system based on Cascading Style Sheets, to a vast array of motion ...

Re: premium and freemium
I don't think I lasted a whole month as a freemium before getting premium, so I don't have a problem with paying $25 for unlimited games, but I can see where it can be a stretch for others, especially where the cost of living is drastically different. Why not do a 10 for $10 special? Create a ...

Re: Player 'Online/Offline' On Game Board *To-Do*
I would like to see an online marker on the Game Finder screen. When joining a 2 or 3 player game I always check the profile of the players that have already joined to see if they are online so the game will most likely get going right away.

How about having a skin contest? Have the winner become the default skin, and the top candidates can start the skin collection that players can select from going forward.

Nice one, I luv the bunnies! But do they have sharp pointy teeth?
So when is the theme contest gonna start to let us come up with our own version of CC? ...along with the ability to select the theme we want to continue to use. Or should I just spend my spare time working on a Bunny Bash map?

Re: Gameplay element. "Construction" poll added
I've always enjoyed games where you have to build units. This seems to be a bridge between them. I wonder how well the current XML could support this type of game play. It certainly sounds fun to me, and I would not only be interested in playing maps like this, but also in helping to develop them ...

Re: Does anyone else rate people the "correct" way?
One problem with a 5 star rating system is the baseline of what is an average rating. I'd say that most people just expect to get a 4 or a 5 unless they are a real jerk, a deadbeat or just do stupid things. However, the ratings say that a 3 is average. By that point of view most people should be ...

Since I am a web developer I can't help but look at things from a code perspective. lol, not like in the Matrix, I don't see the code that well, but I am very familiar HTML form elements. There are always things that can be done to improve a user interface, you just have to be careful not to make ...

Re: chat abuse from goldeyes
I'd say the odds are pretty good. There were only about 20 games waiting for people to join. Non premium members can join up to 4 games. With new players joining around the same time, they are selecting from the same small list of available games. I'd say the odds are in favor of having multiple new ...

Re: "Point and Click" instead of "Dropdown List?"
Just for a point of clarification... is the general idea that the click-able map would replace the selection list and form button or
simply interact with the form elements and still require the button to be clicked before action is taken? (action meaning... before the form is posted)
It does not ...

Re: 19750 members and dropping
Strange place for my first post to the site, but I've got to contribute. Obviously I don't know much about the site yet, since I just joined and started my first 4 games a few days ago, but I am not new to playing "risk" style games online, and not new to online communities in general. I found this ...
