I've been obsessively checking the Beta maps in the Game Finder looking for Vancouver...how much longer do I have to wait until East Van can kick some ass? :(

Re: Vancouver Map [D, GP, GR, XML] (Sep1 - p25)

From the sounds of it, the beta run is taking place this weekend in Vancouver, as soon as somebody can print and laminate the map

I even got my boss (for the price of the printing and laminating) to join us tomorrow afternoon.

Phone me, I'll tell you my moves, and what I rolled (I've got to ...

Re: Vancouver Map [D, GP] (July 17 - p19)

Looking good...

You can check the 3-digit numbers by duplicating the layer with all the 88's on, and shifting it so they turn into 888's.

We'll need to make sure that the triple-digit numbers fit alright, but it looks like it should be OK - although you might need to shift the Dundarave slightly ...

Would this be odd?

Yes, please drop the station names, again it makes it WAY crowded. I like the idea of a minimap with the bonuses instead of names, but I think you have to put the continents in their proper places so colours ...

Re: Vancouver Map [D] (Apr17 - p14)

Keiths, I'm just as happy to return to standard gameplay. How does everyone else feel?

Darrel, I probably should, as it opens soon. But is the location far enough West to be Cloverdale to Pitt Meadows (and not a redundant Fort Langley to Maple Ridge), and is this a positive or negative effect on ...

Re: Vancouver Map [D] (Apr17 - p14)

I think the sports themes and images cheapen the map. I am biased towards standard gameplay though. The map just looks too busy.

And we are pretty much back to mar 19th. I agree, looks better and is less "gimmicky" with the sports removed.

I think the sports were added because, in order to move ...

if u have 66 starting regions (plus 1 neutral), then u don't have to have an extra canada line station. my wife, who's canadian, didn't know what YVR was (only YYZ!).

Is she Canadian or Torontonian?

Re: Vancouver Map [D] (19 Mar - p10)

Why even change it then? The only difference would be whether it touches the US border or not, then, and that is inconsequential.

Agreed. Do we have to chase down a moderator to get the "gameplay" stamp? I am busy playing the Soviet Union map, and this one is SOOOOO much more clear (the mountains ...

Re: Vancouver Map [D] (19 Mar - p10)

Updating the XML is no problem at all, so let's not be limited by that.

White Rock - yes, it is just a South Surrey enclosed bit of land, is its own city. I made the territory to encompass Crescent Beach and Ocean Park, everything south of King George/Highway 99. I figured those places would ...

Re: Vancouver Map [D] (19 Mar - p10)

If we are trying for true shapes, White Rock is WAY too big as drawn. It is a very tiny community completely enclosed by South Surrey (with nice square corners on its two top edges. It stretches only up to 16th, from 136th to 160th.

Of course, correcting that in the picture will require xml ...
