Listen to this, there's no god. I could show you point by point, argument by argument, the no existence of god but I won't waste my time. Besides, it's not a problem of logic or proofs, it's that you were brainwashed, you wanna believe there's a god and you will try to use theologic arguments ...

Re: Back to Irreducable Complexity.
The shark still laid eggs. It didn't have sex to reporduce but it is still a form of sexual reproduction (for the terms of this discussion). It was self fertilised but did not come about by cell division of the parent, causing two copies of the original organism. Maybe there is another word than ...

Re: Back to Irreducable Complexity.
Here is my question / observation: The organisms which are able to breed asexually are only ever simple organisms as far as I am aware. Hermaphrodites (for example) are reasonably common in nature (worms etc) as higher level organisms but that is still a form of sexual reproduction. Therefore the ...

I remember a biology class a few years back when I was still at school, we saw a movie about a kind of lizard that didn't need to mate in order to lay eggs and reproduce. I don't remember what they were called, it's been years since I saw it, but I think a lizard can be classified as on par with a ...

nunz, I am curious as to your background and/or formal training in the area of scientific investigation. I've laid my background out there, both in terms of my spiritual stance as well as my scientific qualifications, so everyone knows where I am coming from. I know nothing about you, and I'm ...

Re: First Question - Is It Possible There Could Be A God?
The first question in any proof giving for creationism (other than defining what creationism is) has to be:
Has God been disproved
or Is it possible there might be a God or Gods (supreme sentient power able to create all we know).
If solid evidence for there being no god ever can be given then ...

Re: Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
So you defend the belief in Creationism by saying Science has not and can not disprove God so Creationism is an acceptable belief. This is not the case because there is a lot of evidence backing an alternate theory called Evolution, hence, in the absence of evidence for Creationism one is ...

Okay, first of all nunz, I apologize if my tone is one of arrogance.

where is proof
Nunz, your post on the previous page came out as more arrogant and closed-minded than any post yet in this thread. Colossus HAS posted a rebuttal, or a link to one, for every argument you've made. They have been posted in an intelligent and readable way without resorting to science-babble, which I ...

Hey .. you are stealing my thunder here .. that is proof 4
Yah I have read GEB. I used to be a math teacher and used to teach my kids about Penrose tiling. Penrose tiling is a system of tesselation that produces an infinite, yet aperdiodic tiling. very cool. I haven't read the book you cite Heavycola, but it sounds good. The idea that consciousness is non ...

Einstein a creationist / theist.
One point creationists make is that someone must have started it all. There must have been a beginning. But why?

The theme of this post - lets be consistent in how we apply the ideas of proof and scientific enquiry as there seems to be double standards.

Dogs and wolves are same species.
what i don't get is that there very plainly IS proof of evolution, just look at all the animals humans have created
e.g some stone age people decided to tame wolves, and a couple of thousand years down the line we have a completely new species-dogs!

So where did you disprove the chicken egg in this post?
Okay, first of all, nunz, your chicken and egg argument is so absurd as to be laughable. Have you ever studied evolutionary theory at all?

Re: Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
So if they happened at once in one generation we are looking at a huge mutation of a single animal. That animal, the new egg laying species, would be completely incompatible for breeding purposes with any other animal of its old species. It would die out for lack of mates.

One out of two aint bad
Yes, there is a possibility that we were created by some kind of being(s) or force in the universe. it is equally possible that we were came out of eons of slow genetic mutation and adaptation.
A possibility among an infinite number of others is no cause for building dogma.
But there is not an ...
