You are in a truce arrangement with a player, circumstances change and you find yourself now having to break the truce and being able to win the game. I wasn't brought up like that. We were taught to learn from out mistakes. Thats how we get better at it.

I think you did nothing wrong. Get in there and mess up his game... but I do think it is important that you make sure he realizes that it is part of the game, or he gonna get in some fights in the future.

I have 5.1.5 installed but the tutorial in the help/info on the BOB menu is for 4.4.9 I assume I have the latest version but there is no snapshot option in my BOB menu. The tabs above the maps, take snapshot, show differences, etc. don't work for me. Is it because I am a freemium? Am I doing something wrong? It would be really helpful to be able to see everybody elses turn to better judge my strategy.

Yes I understand, and I can see how a suicide button would wreak havoc with cheating and such. Suppose the player asking to be killed is the best option.
