Re: Northwest Passage [Quenched]

Thanks Stealth99 for the update, it's huge news! Absolutely amazing to be able to see footage of this mysterious ship that vanished so long ago, and seemingly lost for good.

It was my husband's interest in the Franklin expedition that inspired the Northwest Passage map, which is why I included the ...

Re: [Updated Mar 3] - Tokyo

RedBaron0,

I chose to simply list the bonuses at the bottom so that it is clear with more than just colour what is "Old", "Suburban", and "Central". I don't think this could be conveyed on a minimap in the same way. Then again, if listing everything on the bottom is not terribly helpful, would it ...

Re: [Updated Mar 3] - Tokyo

Why have you decided to have a lot of "hard" borders? It looks a little like how the Europeans drew up Africa .
Could you add some water? I think it would make the map clearer.

Hard borders, I must've done it at the start to quickly put it together, never changed it. Is it distracting? Would ...

Re: Map of Austin, Tx

What did you base your territory divisions on? It looks like you just drew lines to break things up evenly. Will there be names for each territory in the future? It would be so very dull to keep it all directional.

Re: [Vacation - valid untill May 2012] - Tokyo

50px will be sufficient. Here is the large version at 840x850,

[bigimg]http://www.atomation.com/~thazzard/fun/tokyo/jan15.jpg[/bigimg]

It's not where I want it to be yet, but getting closer. I like the legend better now, though still need to think through the inclusion of Landmarks/Parks to it.

Re: [Vacation - valid untill May 2012] - Tokyo

Isaiah, it certainly would. Would this be for just the small version, or the large as well?

With 40 extra pixels, we'd have something like this:

When I shorten names, do I need to abbreviate the latter parts? (Minami Senju ...

It's open and being worked on! Hit a bit of a stall with my legend, too much info, too little space.

Re: Who can make this map playable...?

I could see it working if it became an economic map of the world. Own factories here, resource areas there, retail in another place. Categories like oil, textiles, wood, food, minerals (gems?), and humans as a resource too. So own a village in India, conquer a call centre, then pick up an American ...

Re: Tokyo [17 Jul 2011]

Said bridge doubles as a landmark. To not have it different would be inconsistent with all the other landmarks.

As for the update, definitely better bridges than the black lines. Are the other bridges in Tokyo rather boring affairs unlike the Rainbow Bridge?

Honestly I don't know! I guess I can ...

Updated bridges. Please ignore parks/landmarks in legend, it's a work in progress. Just figured I should update once in a while :) Will find time to do more.

Re: Tokyo [16 Aug 2011]

Thanks everyone

Just to keep things active:

I've swapped the beer hall for the Tokyo Skytree. I don't know what to do about the bridges: the black lines were temporary as I worked out gameplay. I don't know whether to try bridges like on Vancouver (I sketched one in here), which I find are very ...

Actually, it was a homebirth! and I updated a few days after (I had her on the 14th). But it's kinda hard to draw careful pictures when holding a squirming baby in one hand, who could explode in cries any minute.

Picture warnings: they aren't just for the smoker. I've heard of kids pressuring their parents to stop smoking because of the graphic warning labels, terrified their mom or dad will get cancer and leave them behind.

And I'm pretty sure that youth smoking in Canada is at an all-time low. Then again ...

Re: Philadelphia - [15 Jul 2011] pg 20

As natty says, the photo with the text on top is too much.

Another option for changing it might be to redraw it in vectors and make it flatter that way. I'm thinking like what I did with Vancouver between: m and m

It will remove a lot of the detail, and give you quick options for changing colour ...
