1/22/08 - The Round 2 Death/War and Harmony/Compassion games are being created. I see no point in waiting for every Round 1 game to finish when we can avoid potential stalemates by starting these before the other Round 2 games. We'll have less people waiting for the final round. I will send out PMs shortly.

1/17/08 - Minor bump in the road in terms of Round 1 games - JointStrikeFight has not joined his Death game. mcloven, our reserve, has been PMed. Hopefully the game will start soon.
1/15/08 - Round 1 games are created! I've PMed everyone, you have until 5:00 PM on Thursday (US East Coast time) to join your game. You will be replaced if you don't join by then.
1/15/08 - I'm also going to be away on Saturday and Sunday of this weekend. If someone wants to volunteer, I'll create the Round 2 games before I go and PM the passwords/numbers to you so you can give them to the winners of the Round 1 games. Help in this matter would be greatly appreciated (Although it's only 2 days).
Introduction
Welcome all, to my first attempt at a tournament. This tournament will be based off of the extremely creative CC map "8 Thoughts". There will be a battle to control a thought, then the world (as an afterthought) and then the human mind!
I'm hoping to have 4 players in each of the 8 games in round 1 (32 people), but if we only get 24 people we'll roll with 3 player games. I've tried to pick settings based off of each thought, but also off of what I think works best for each map (maps are based on the thought).
Rules
1. Anyone can join, freemium or premium, as long as you have a slot open for a game when the tournament begins. Also, if you win a game make sure you have a slot open for the next round.
2. I will send a PM to one person in a thought group, who will then PM the other 3 people in the game. You must join your game within 48 hours or a reserve will replace you.
3. If you have a player on your ignore list, and you are stupid enough to ask for the same game as him/her, you will not be able to play. Either take them off your ignore list or be replaced.
Round 1
If you lose in Round 1, the winners will stick a fork in you, because you're done! The winner of each game will advance to round 2.
Exception - if we have 4 players in each game, the second place players in each game will advance to the Loser's Round, where they will square off for 5th place. Details will follow if we get 32 people.

In Round 2, the winner of each thought will face the winner of the thought most closely linked to theirs in a 1 vs 1. All maps will be Classic, all settings will be Standard, Sequential, Flat Rate, Unlimited.

Knowledge vs. Inspiration
Compassion vs. Harmony
Round 3
Round 3 will be the ultimate battle for the mind. All 4 winners of round 2 will square off in some poor guy's noggin. What will be the winning thought? Inspiration? Compassion? Death? Sex? War? It's insanity!

Signing Up
So you've read this post (or most of if anyway), and you've decided to join. To avoid any confusion whatsoever, I've devised a signup sheet for you. In your post put:
1. What thought you would like to be in (they're listed above, under "round 1")
2. Whether or not you want to be thoughtleader, which is a cool name I made up for the person that helps me out by PMing your 3 opponents and telling them to join the game. Please do not offer to do this if you are illiterate.
In conclusion - The therapy session will begin January 20th, or when we get 32 players, whatever comes first.
This is my first tournament, so I want it to be a success. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please don't hesitate to post here or PM me (whichever makes you happier).
