Great map, but I really don't like bonuses for controling a single territory. Instead of an extra person, have an area that was or is heavily fortified given a 1 added to the defence (defense?). In the lord of the rings risk, they have several fortresses like that.
If common sense was so common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Reason: The names are like "The Republic of Chechnya". And I can't fit those into the spaces and keep them readable. :? Soooo....any ideas on that part? :?:

Russia Map V.2

Post by SargentFluffy »

After multiple changes, late nights, erasers, brushes, text...it's a step closer.

lol...well I'm thinking this is an improvment...what say you all?

The text is weird here...I saved in in a different format so it wouldn't be as bug, and it's made the text smaller...so don't worry. it won't be THAT small..

It looks good, but it seem like you have alot of dead space around the map. Perhaps the legend could be made a little smaller allowing you to expand the map to remove some of it..

just my opinion though..

Please keep only one topic per map. Easier to find things and clears the forum of clutter.

The west side is crowded... of course. The names doesnt fit well. For example, Saint Petersburg name seems to refer to Karelia, and Samaya seems refer to Kalmykia. Put the numbers, and it will not be readable.

Again, I simply cant believe is difficult create countries in the east side... see those countries waiting to be splitted... please...

By the way you started for the smal version, huh?

Nice, i think you should add kaliningrad (idk how but i think it would be a nice addition). You could also do with more connections, connect sakhanlinskaya to primorsky and nenets island to tamiya to better continent flow.

I also think Koryaksky, Kamchatskya and Revensky Islands would be very annoying to conquer as it is a dead end and you wouldnt know how many to advance into kamchatskaya to take out revensky islands because u dont know what the dice will do to you.

What is special about Saint Petersburg and Moscow?

I think your missing a name for a territory on the pink continent.

origionally I had Revensky Islands and Sakhanlinskaya connected, but doesn't that make a ton of borders?

Ur right, maybe you should connect Kamchatskya to Magadanskva? It would fix the problem of not knowing how many armies to advance into Kamchatka to attack Revensky Islands and wouldnt create any new external borders.

Looking at the map again i think that it might be quite easy to get Irkust when you have Island Chain. Irkust isnt really the classic's Asia, i think Irkust is the classic's version of North America. A one way from Sakhahnskaya to Revensky Islands wouldnt change the Irkust value.

How about ditching the monotonous grey background and putting in land and sea? It looks like it's floating at the moment. Oh and you have space to make the landmass bigger so the numbers and the names can fit into where they are needed.

You could also add a title at the top of the map.

And beyond my comment of try to get more countries in the east and less in the west side, I would like to say I think that is not a good position to the legend in this map. As its a long W-E map, the legend would be better at same position of Hong Kong map' one.
