new colours

Post by ben79 »

well for the new colours .... not too good .... i'll explain why = i'm colorblind ( it sucks i know ) .... and putting colours that look alike it's not the best thing ..... the best would be = black, white, dark blue, pale blue, yellow, red, dark green, orange
that would be the best ....... maybe i'm the only one who's colorblind but that would help a lot

Cool. Still, I like the colour codes... who needs the colors themselves?

My 2c - The new colors are great, but I am still struggling with blue and green against the darker areas of the classic map. I can see the color, but can't read the army counts very clearly. I have to hover over those and let Bob clue me in as to what's there. If the green and blue could be brightened up a bit OR, add a contrasting color dot behind them so that they stand out against something other than the map.

I actually converted around page 198. Unfortunately, I converted to satanism.

thoughtdotcom wrote:Not to be a downer or anything, but I've noticed that when the colors red and pink are on off red, pink, or purple countries, it becomes very hard to tell the difference.
After the switch, a couple of my colors changed from cyan to pink, and while one of the maps is a gray scale background (and I can tell the difference fine), the other is on canada and south africa of the World 2.1 map, and I am now struggling to tell which territories are mine, and which ones Red just took from me.

I agree, the red and pink are difficult to distinguish

very nice, thanks a lot :) but why isn't black ever used? :( the circles could be made a little less transparent, therefore making it easier to see the black

What's with the flip-flopping between color and colour? The thread says color, the notice says colour. Choose the one Canadians use!

Where is black? This was my favourite colour in the original Risk board game?

As I'm sure most of you know, we've been blessed with 8 Player Games for a while now. What a riot they are! But when we released them, the additional colors were far from being the most clear, readable, etc. We heard your cries of woe ("Is that Orange...I can't tell!"), and as some of you may know we set up an Ad-Hoc focus group to help us select better colors for 8 Player Games. The "Color Committee" was a huge success, and I'd like to thank each and everyone who helped participate in the discussion and the decision of new colors. Your service in helping better Conquer Club is much appreciated by us all!

The colors as they will appear on the map:

    #FF0000: Red (Both Same)
    #009A04: Green (Both Same)
    #0000FF: Blue (Both Same)
    #FFFF00: Yellow (Bright)
    #FF00FF: Pink (Both Same)
    #00FFFF: Cyan (Bright)
    #FF9922: Orange (Both Same)
    #7F7F7F: Slate (Both Same)
    Neutral is White

These colors will appear in all 'Gray Interface Areas':
(I.E. Log Window, Chat Window, Player Info Widow)

    #FF0000: Red (Both Same)
    #009A04: Green (Both Same)
    #0000FF: Blue (Both Same)
    #DDDD00: Yellow (Muted)
    #FF00FF: Pink (Both Same)
    #00CCCC: Cyan (Muted)
    #FF9922: Orange (Both Same)
    #7F7F7F: Slate (Both Same)

    Neutral is Black
Also note that PINK and CYAN are now switched in the color order for clarity.

=========================

And so those are the changes we've got in store! The new colors will be uploaded at
11 AM EST. So keep your eyes out!

And also keep your eyes out for more Ad-Hoc advisory groups to be used in the future! We want you all to help in creating a better Conquer Club, and I know that with all the talent, skill, and enthusiasm we have here...the sky is no limit!

Once again, yhanks to all those who helped us out. Enjoy your games and get back to World Domination!
