I consider GS to be a much better risk gaming experience than CC. It plays much faster. Things like being able to click on countries and a Do or Die button take a lot of the work out of the game.
We also have a new map, Norman Invasion:

It is very well suited for 8 player games.

the only thing that sucks about this is that you have to be premium to play it wtf is up with that

When GS was first released I considered CC to be better and I think I said as much in this thread.
However, GS has made major improvements on the user interface that edged it in front of CC.
Turn time remaining on the active game screen.
Obvious indicator if it is you can play a turn on the active game screen.
Click on countries to select them for deploy, attack and fortify.
Do or Die button.
I can take my turns faster on GS. Faster is better. I have time for more games and/or coding.

New mode of play: Interdiction
Interdiction
This mode of play is centered around the ownership by each player of a Capital, a designated territory. All army deployments must be in a territory that is connected to the player's Capital. Capitals are automatically issued to all players prior to the first round. The player is allowed to change the Capital to any territory during the first round. In subsequent rounds, the Capital may only be moved to a territory that is adjacent to the old Capital. If a player's Capital is captured, any territory may be selected as a location for the new Capital.

New scoring method
We have implemented awarding scoring for each player eliminated when they are eliminated.
The scoring method is also available for team games (differs from CC's Terminator).

It is an off topic discussion area. What exactly don't you understand about that?
Grand Strategy is hardly a large commercial site. It provides a free Risk experience just like CC does. And it makes the same amount of profit that CC does, which is not any at all.

When I logged in I got a "This script is blah, do you want to let it continue running?" dialogue from Firefox. Not cool.
You store my password in plaintext format (you show it to me if I click options) without hashing it. So if I use that login & password for any other site, you now have it. If anyone goes to my computer while I'm logge in, they have it. If anyone hacks your database, they have it. THANKS! Luckily I use randomly generated passwords for every site I visit, but a lot of people don't.
I do like the idea of two player games, though, I think ConquerClub should have those, I could organize a lot more real time games if it did.
Anyway, pimping your site once in the off topic forum isn't such a big deal, Lack. I wouldn't hold too much of a grudge. But I would make sure ConquerClub is always 2 steps ahead. (Competition is almost always good for the consumer.)(

Logging in the first time to GS involves downloading a large amount of javascript which is then cached and shouldn't need to be downloaded again. So that message should disappear.
I can display the password as a password field, but that really only prevents people on your system from getting your password. There is fundamental insecurity in passing passwords to websites unless you use SSL, which neither CC or GS use.

i agree with x. you should use a hashing algorithm to protect the passwords.

I will implement a client side hashing mechanism.
Advance all option
Now that CC has a Do or Die button, it should consider adding an "Advance All" option.
This allows you to automatically advance all armies when performing a Do or Die attack.

Isnt that already the default? When you attack someone doesnt it automatically set the advance armies number to the maximum amount?
Grand Strategy
Well I play both Grand Strategy and CC, and I prefer GS's "click on territories" method as opposed to CC's "drop down box" method. It's much faster and fewer mistakes are made. CC does have a lot of nice options and is fun too... but I wouldn't go so far as to say that it is always "two steps ahead". Bryan has put a lot of hard work into the site and there's a new feature every week it seems.

I wonder where he got that option from.
