Not much for giving an actual reason for Obama, are you?
Anyways, I'm for McCain, have been for awhile actually.
"Eh, whatever."

There aren't many people that can give reasons for either side, which is quite depressing. That said, both Obama and McCain would be good choices.

Re: Obama, Hilliary, or Mccain
Hilary voice is way to annoying. Obama doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing. I really have no clue what his policies are. McCain is a moderate republican, and WHY OF ALL ELECTIONS WAS IT HIM. *sobs* Anybody but him.
But I McCain is better then the Dens

Re: Obama, Hilliary, or Mccain
I'm for Obama. Not sure why but I just like him. Doesn't matter that much for me as i'm not american.
I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is.
Re: Obama, Hilliary, or Mccain
This thread is sad. Nobody has said anything more than "I don't like Hillary's voice" or "Obama doesn't know what he's doing."
I say it's sad because this is how most people vote.

Re: Obama, Hilliary, or Mccain
i'd vote for hillary.
if she were president then she'd travel the globe attending summits and global leaders always have a photo shoot where they wear the national dress.
wouldn't it be great to see her in something other than a pant-suit.

Re: Obama, Hilliary, or Mccain
I am siding with McCain.
I do not like Hillary. She is my senator in NY. I have known her well. She will say anything to be popular and to get elected. Then she votes the exact opposite. Her record in the senate has a whole lot to be desired. Her resume is filled with fantasy. (qv Bosnia)
I am dissapointed with Barrack. I mean he means well and he's probably the best most popular and most reasonable democrat in the bunch, but he's still a bona fide pre born baby killer.
McCain is often called another Bush. That's stupid in one important way; McCain is a military man, and Bush was one of those peope who just avoided the real conflicts. Military men don't make the mistake of getting us willy nilly into wars. Bush wasn't a military man. McCain has an honest concern about casualties in the military. I believe he would have an equal attitude towards giving veterans the respect and support they deserve when they get back home.
My African American fantasy for president is J.C. Watts. He would make a good VP (hint hint McCain).

Well he needs something to energize either himself or his campaign. I know everyone is focused on the Democrats right now and it's exciting since nobody knows how it will turn out, but geez!, would it kill the guy to show a little bit of enthusiasm? Actually, it might now that I think about it.

Re: Obama, Hilliary, or Mccain

they talk on withdrawing our troops but if we dont stablize the government there, catch osama bin ladin and make a police force there before we leave, the country will recess back to its orignal pre war state

Re: Obama, Hilliary, or Mccain
None of them....bring back Ron Paul or Mike Huckabee.
Reasonings:
1) Obama has no clue how the economy works (listen to the debate a few weeks back when he was asked about Capital Gain and Gov't Revenue), he is pushing a healthcare plan that is in no way possible (with how he plans to do it), and he was sworn in the the Koran, he has known friendly relationships with a known terrorist (William Ayers), among many other reasons I can list...but these are 4 of the largest things I disagree with.
2) Hillary is a pathological liar, she is completely for abortion, she is completely against the 2nd amendment (which is a right I have in the country I live...so she CAN'T legally/lawfully change it), and like Obama there are many other reasons I can list as to why I wouldn't vote for her, but I think this proves my point.
3) McCain is just a wolf in sheeps clothing (Liberal pretending to be a Conservative), he has been bashing his party and the Bush administration ever since people are saying electing him would be like Bush having a third term, he has flip-flopped multiple times on various subjects (including abortion, gay-rights/marriage, gun rights, etc). I can go on here as well, but once again, my point has been made.

Do you really think Osama is in Iraq? If so I don't believe you should be able to vote.
Although this is what our country has become... random people thinking that they have a right to vote, but refuse to do the necessary research in order to make a well informed decision, effectively turning it into a popularity contest, or whoever the best bullsh*tter gets the presidential nod.
All this could be alleviated by just enforcing a testing process before you are allowed to vote.
If I was forced to vote as is I suppose I would vote for McCain, as I am a republican and I think that is the best person to keep taxes low. Although I can give you a bit of trivia...
What two senators of the 110th congress have missed over 50% of their votes?
McCain missed 325 votes (58.5%) and
Tim Johnson D-SD missed 311 votes (55.9%)
Oh but it turns out that Sen. Johnson suffered a brain hemorrhage on Dec. 13, 2006, and spent several months recovering. Only recently returning to his seat.

you clearly should not be allowed to vote as you appear incapable of understanding simple household budgeting truths. it goes like this:DRoZ wrote:If I was forced to vote as is I suppose I would vote for McCain, as I am a republican and I think that is the best person to keep taxes low.
income greater than expenses = good thing
income less than expenses = bad thing
income constantly less than expenses = bankruptcy
by the way, bankruptcy is bad, real bad.
you need a president with the spine to raises taxes and slash spending.

So are you buying into Obama's bs line that raising the capital gain tax will increase the amount of revenue the government pulls in...even thought it's been proven time and time again that lowering it brings in more revenue than raising it?
Or does it depend on what's going on on Wall Street at the time?
idiots
Edit: yes, you do need to slash spending...that is a given...but raising taxes....study economical patterns when that happens

You got half of that right. You need to cut spending and keep taxes low. Explain to me how increasing taxes is supposed to help our economy. Or do we not need to have a stable economy in order to pay back all this national debt that we have built up? No matter how much money our government decides to take from us they still aren't going to spend it any more wisely.

Even if that's true -- and it's debatable, despite many peoples' insistence that they are absolutely right -- which is better for the economy: a war in Iraq for the next century, which is costing us 18 million dollars an hour, and increasing our debt to the likes of China (thus giving us less and less leverage with them), not to mention the lives lost in the whole affair, or pulling out of Iraq in about a year?
Idiots indeed.
Re: Obama, Hilliary, or Mccain
What leverage are you refering to with china? Last I checked we owe them somewhere around 350 billion. Japan holds most of the foreign debt at around 650 billion, but our own government owns about half of the trillions of dollars of debt, in state and local governments, ss savings accounts bonds and the sort. Actually it may be a good thing that we owe china a lot of money, as attacking us may cost them more just in the debt we owe them, lol.

What else? The iraq war is a gigantic was of money, resources and most importantly life. You will never hear me say a single good thing about that mess. I think you may be getting upset at me about the whole mccain thing. Apparently I didnt make it clear enough that I think he would be an awful president, but yet only a slightly better choice than the others. I was a Paul supporter, but we all see how that worked out.
Re: Obama, Hilliary, or Mccain
Oh and what do we need leverage with china for?
Re: Obama, Hilliary, or Mccain
Well, at least you admit McCain would be a horrible President, but the idea that Obama or Hillary would be just as bad is ridiculous. McCain fails with his stance on the war, and honestly, the war is THE most important issue. Even more than the economy. People don't seem to realize that the reason we are in a recession is because of this war. Any candidate that doesn't acknowledge that shouldn't even be considered, no matter his/her other policies.
As for China, do you have your head in the sand or something? China and Russia both prevent the UN from passing a resolution to establish sanctions on Iran (I think...). China supports the Sudanese government -- you know, that one committing genocide in Darfur? China persecutes the minorities within its own country (Tibetans, practicers of Falun Gong, etc). The Chinese basically do not understand the meaning of human rights. At the same time, it seems that they will become a power on a level with the US very soon. We cannot afford to let them go on unchecked as a super-power with their track record.
