Yeah, think about when you were new here. Would you want to be banned from playing certain games until you had played a certain amount?

Maybe something like the ignore list except the exact opposite? You can fill it with noobs you want to play before they rank.

Yeah I would completely agree with this. I am for the idea of banning noobs from doubles, but that would make it impossible to play with a friend you are introducing the site to. So I think this idea can only work if a "friends list" is set up.

My friend Zach "the saint" recently joined.. and today during schoool he's like I joined conquer club but I have no clue how to play.. turns out he had joined a triples game and didnt even know it.. luckily he hadnt attacked his teammate yet but he probably would have... I agree.

I understand that some people have terrific newbie team experiences and sometimes you want to play team games with your newbie friend, but these are really exceptional cases.

Team deadbeats are a very serious problem. 80% are from newbies.

Look, we can just hide team games from members who haven't finished a game yet, as is done with the scoreboard. Or we can make team games a special bonus you get with your first promotion :?:

I am surprise that the poll records more "No" than "Yes".
When we joined, we joined to play singles games at first, team games came later.
I don't see a problem in awarding the team game ability with the first promotion. You have to earn it, but it doesn't take that long to complete it.
A lot of online games have some features which must be earned at the beginning. once they completed their first matches (maybe one should only count matches where one hasn't deadbeated there) , one has proven that one knows the basic rules of the game.

So I second the way, lack is thinking.

Instead of stopping newbies from playing in a team game as their first game- i think i have a viable alternative whether it is possible to implement i'm not sure- My suggestion is that instead of stopping newbies from playing team games it could be made so that a newbie can join any game type they want and if the newbies misses their first 2 turns the game should be scrapped- that way the partner won't lose points for losing because of the DB and the opponents won't have to wait for the newbie to miss another turn before they get knocked out- and if possible you could give the opponents 5 points a piece and maybe the partner of the DB like 2 points for time invested in the game before it was scrapped- I think this little part would be good especially for people like me who don't have premium membership so we are limited to 4 games at a time and to get stuck in a game with a DB and get nothing would hurt us when we could have been in another game instead- IF you are going to comment on my post- PLEASE analyze and respond don't just criticise based on opinion- look at the validity of the statement first-TY

Ban on newbies in team games

I also like the bonus with the first promotion idea. This might even encourage noobs who will get a little incentive when they advance, and would lessen the amount of fodder in team games.

Should have it that if the player was refered by a friend, the friend can play doubles with that person.

Im just really disappointed in you lack. Here's some reasons I think they should be allowed:

1. If I had known there was such a thing as doubles games when I came to this site. That would have been the first thing I joined.
2. Just because some newbies deadbeat doesn't mean that all of them will deadbeat. (obvious but felt like saying it.)
3. If they don't understand the doubles concept when they first join, having them banned from doubles games won't help that.
4. Even if they do deadbeat that's good for me because I always have a set partner and it makes it easier for me and my partner to win.
5. If you get screwed over by a deadbeat partner, that's your fault for not bringing your own partner in.
6. Like some people have said it can be a good way for new people to get a better understanding of the game.

80% of newbies deadbeating...is a problem. To me it is unfair for the community to deal with such a thing. Having doubles game unlocked after they hit private...or at least one game completed...seems like it is the fairest thing that can be done...for the community.

I like the first promotion thing, as long as it's from the '?' state to private. Myself, and I'm sure many others, have never gone above the private stage, but it's still fun to play team games every now and then.

matbe have the team games filtered
not 'hidden' but they have to click another button to open up all of the team games...

like if your below a private, you can see the team games, but only if you click a button...that way those who DO want to play with friends CAN beacuse their FRIENDS will be able to FIND that button...those who just join any random game don't really look that hard for one...

P gizzle...good let them deal with the deadbeating problem. This might be our solution to it. ;) People have been crying out fora solution since it first came up, and this is by far one of the better ideas I've heard.

well in my opinion (not that u care) i, as being once a noob, would not feel welcome here, and that's not how CC should be, otherwise the little game title suggestion would've been implemented, and so would've game rank filtering. so, do as u wish, but our new membership will go down.

I voted back at the beginning of this thread, and I voted no because I think we shouldnt prevent new players from joining team games just because they are new.

However, I would like to change my vote to yes, they should not be allowed to play team games until they have completed 1 game, or until they are promoted to private. This would greatly cut back on deadbeats in team games, and since team games are where deadbeats hurt the game the most, it makes a lot of sense. In standard games, if someone deadbeats its the same problem for everyone, its not unfair. However in team games it changes the whole strategy.

I used to play a lot of team games, and was always disappointed when a deadbeat happened. It is annoying for both teams, but especially for the team who lose a partner.

I feel this is a reasonable compromise and should be implemented in the next update. There might be a few members who don't stick around because of it, but the overall quality of team games will increase a LOT!
