Hi Tac,

While we're waiting, I was wondering how the slate and green army colors fare on the Deck. The red's a little close in color, but not unreadable.

Best,

Version 18

Updates:
- Made the Parade Deck's edges more rounded
- Removed some whitespace artifacts on various trees around campus
- Changed the killer neutral explanation to straight black, no drop shadow
- Fixed the large via a proper split (as promised, InkL0sed)

Small version (600x461)

Large version (700x538)

Right southeast of the title is some pixely weirdness on the large.

The battalion corners look off on the small:
Echo, Hotel, F-Troop, India, Battery, Papa, and Romeo all have oddly thick lines
Alpha, Charlie, Oscar, Mike, Lima, and the right one on Disrepair have misshapen circles.

Overall, looking good :)

On the large map, can you thin the black outlines?

TaCktiX. I am almost ready to stamp this for graphics, even though I know there are some people requesting some other modifications. A fine job!

A request if I may before stamping, could you put up a version of the map with an arrangement of 88 army digits that are randomly scattered as per the start of an 8 player game. I'd just like to see how the army numbers look on those colours other than their own colour.
Thanks. :)

I'm going to have to ask for further opinions on this before I do so. When I corrected the blurriness, I decided to go with 2px outlines instead of 1px, despite only a 16% increase in size. I can thin them out fairly easily, but I'd like to see if it's an issue with others.

I did it on the small as that was a simple matter of rearrangement. I might do it on the large later to make XML centering easier.

I would prefer thinner lines.

I've started work on the XML, and even though I've got the Gameplay stamp, I'd like to make a motion to switch 4th Battalion's (3) and Support Battalion's (2) bonuses. Support Battalion needs to defend 3 territories from 5 territories in 3 different continents. 4th Battalion needs to defend 3 territories against 3 territories in 2 different continents. Due to the relative openness of the map, I do not think the one extra 4th Battalion territory (relative to Support Battalion) justifies it as a +3 while leaving Support Battalion as a +2. Poll added.

Congrats on the stamp Tac.
But.. The more I look at those 2px outlines, the more they bother me. If it's not to hard to bring down the stroke, could you post a 1px large map so we could compare?

Look on page 19 for how they look. The Canteen is iffy with red, but not horrendously iffy.

Version 19

Small And Large Updates:
- Smoothed out the asphalt artifact in the top left
- Switched the 4th Battalion and Support Battalion bonuses (6 to 1 vote)
- Fixed odd-looking turrets
- Wrote, checked, and centered the XML

Large Updates:
- Cut the borders back to 1 pixel
- Removed further tree artifacts
- Redid all of the turrets

Small Version (600x461)

Large Version (700x538)

XML: http://www.sendspace.com/file/xcvmxx
XML Tester wrote:Test results:

Summary: 0 errors and 0 warnings detected in TheCitadel.xml (8 continents, 50 territories)

Point of Discussion:
- Should I move the large attack routes back to 1px, or is the added clarity (in my opinion) fine as is?

1px looks much better - i even think the sidewalks should go down to 1px also so they are not so bold.

The 1px building borders are way better.

The attack routes from Mark Clark and Bond Halls are not centered on the buildings. Otherwise, this last update really showed that it's ready for the forge.
