Nope, I'm having problems with YouTube too sometimes and I have no clue what the problem can be.

Anyway, any ideas for this map? How do I get one of these shiny new stamps?

I think there are a lot of conflicting styles in the map. The first thing I'd do is change the font. A lot of the continent colors are too similar, IMO. But I basically think this map is looking good.

I wouldn't say perfect, but we had it almost good to go, graphics-wise when I still worked on it.

Can one of the cartographers please shed some light on this?

Okay here are some things that aren't really too important...but id change them.

1) Zulu-land doesnt have a river above it like the rest of the map does
2)I dont know what you mean by Land-locked countries...
3)I think you should just take out the whole impassable box and put in a map of Africa showing where South Africa is. Maybe switch this box with where the title is
4)I think you should make Lesotho and Swazi-land the same color
5)Is it just me? or are the army circles ovals? I think i like them though...
6)Maybe make the port towns have black text?

I dont know, i think its quenchable, but maybe add those in.

I disagree with pretty much everything

1. Maybe there isn't a river there? :p

2. He shows it in the legend

3. I like the legends as they are.

4. Doesn't make a difference really but I'm not sure the orange fits well. Maybe this has a significance for that area though?

5. I believe you're right. as long as they can fit the numbers.

6. I think they're fine as is. They are readable and all the text matches so that's a plus.

Only 'problem' I have is the grey borders. I'd like to see them darker so they stand out more. But, as Kappy says, it seems quenchable to me.

First thing I can do is sticky it.

The first thing you'll need to do is remove the [Vacation] tag from your topic title... then convince gimil that this project is back on its feet and he'll stamp you and move you out of Ideas.

Things that I'd like to see you work on... the Landlocked Countries concept doesn't entirely make sense. To me, "landlocked" means no access to the sea, yet by holding Lesotho and Freestate you haven't granted Lesotho port access. Also, I don't ever like calling bonus regions continents unless they actually are continents - Freestate isn't a continent.

Also, the colors aren't color-blind friendly... it is easy to distinguish colors on the map, but not in the legend.

Glad to see you're back!

Maybe im just being stupid, but isent south africa in the south of africa?

As for the actual map. I think it looks lovely as it is, apart from, i think the flag should have a bit of a shadow.

Holding the land locked country should be more advantageous. Maybe gives a bonus to all continents not just adjacent ones

I'm not too happy with the look of transition from land to ocean. Its kinda blurry. Would you be able to define that edge a bit more, so its not so blurred?

Could you make the ocean the same color as the rivers, cause I like the way the rivers look, but I don't like it how they are dark and the ocean is lighter.

I agree with lanyards about standardizing the water color.

Also, the bridges just don't look right, especially with the rungs that nearly disappear when the rest of the map shows up behind them. Instead of wood, what about stone? That would allow you to make both sides of the bridge solid without looking "off".

Overall, I like the map, as it has its own unique theme that doesn't seem to fully imitate any other map out there.

Is there an underlying method to the order in which the continent bonuses are listed in the legend? Seems like it could be a bit more.... internally consistent.
