No...
Although maybe my lack of anything interesting to talk about is some sort of reflection upon the social circumstances in which I live, which could be hotly debated. In a postmodern world where all meta-narratives are dissolving are we searching for some sort of meaning or yearning for some lost stability, a remnant of which we find in the fixed rules in this gaming site?
...or not.

You see, I don't see myself as craving power at all in the real world. In fact most of the time I like to avoid all positions of influence or responsibility. I dunno what attracts me to risk, it's just so... interesting. It lures out my competitive streak I guess.

Meh, I walk/use public transport wherever I need to go, so doesn't bother me so much. Though I'm sure public transport prices are going up too. What you guys think regarding peak oil. Reckon it'll be the end of society as we know it, or just another conspiracy theory?

Oil Crisis
Of course it's just a big conspiracy. Oil industry analysts have stated that not only have the oil companies been taking record breaking profits, and steadily increasing their "profit margins", as well as their gross profits, but they have also been buying up all sources of independent fuel.
When independent fuel providers supply the independent stations, those stations are able to sell gas more cheaply than the oil company stations whose prices are artificially inflated. What has been happening recently is that the oil companies are intervening and buying up the independent supplies at higher prices. What happens then is that the independent stations then have to pay higher prices so that they have any gas at all. They then have to charge more. It's like a seller at an auction also bidding on his items to jack the prices up.
Anyone that votes republican is a moron. It is just too perdictable what will happen when you put a front man for the oil companies in charge of the government. I was particulary impressed by Bush coming out on TV last week and telling us that he had decided to drop the investigation intoexcessive oil company profits. He said that if we started taxing these windfall profits then it would discourage the oil companies from reinvesting in new refineries.....lol
This at the end of a quarter where every oil company made record breaking profits......

Did you see the story a couple of weeks ago where an oil company executive just retired with a 400 million dollar retirement plan....lol

I choose not to say anything about some of this stuff....
I've seen things blown way out of proportion with today's media. Do I think that gas has gone insane? Yes.... but am I going to go as far as blame things on public entities.... No.... alot of times that kinda information is very flawed.
I'm not trying to support Bush, I'm just saying that I'm very tired of today's media. Just my 2 cents.

It's not, but that doesn't make bank robbery legal, or mugging, though those are both ways of making money. It's not about whether money is made, but how it is being made. When gas prices directly affect the price of food - what you pay for your bananas isn't just what it costs to force poor people to grow them, but also what it costs to transport them to the store - then making unreasonable profits off gas is taking a disproportionate amount of money from those for whom food is a considerable chunk of living expenses - i.e. the poor - and giving it to the rich. Now there is a point of view where that's cool, but it's not mine, and I don't think it's yours, Hoff, even if you believe in the benefits of capitalism. Read up on your American history of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and ask yourself what kind of situation your parents would have been in if the prevailing wisdom against regulating markets hadn't changed - you wouldn't be reading this on a computer in your house, I'm guessing.
On a side note, this is my CCth post, if we're counting in Roman numerals, which we will be for the remainder of this post. I think because this site is CC, your CCth post should be like some kind of Sweet Sixteen post, except more male in my case. Like, you guys should all pitch in and buy me a new bike or something.
And Fishfleas, as far as I'm concerned, you're more of a regular on this thread than six bowls of All Bran. Sorry, VI bowls of All Bran.
And my favourite flavour of ice cream is vanilla, because I'm boring, or because I like the simple things in life, depending on your interpretation.
Now seriously, I gotta go get a job.
