Re: Official Brazil REVAMP competition [Round 2]
all 3 maps are nice in there own way..............but....i would like to vote for map B
Re: Official Brazil REVAMP competition [Round 2]
wow, 599... I would vote again, but I've already voted 27 times and if I create any more multis it might get a bit obvious.
But on a serious note, has anybody ventured into the Portuguese language forum and invited them to vote in this?

Though more votes have rolled in, the difference has remained roughly the same over the past few days...

I've noticed that as well - rj's map has had a 10-15% lead since day one.
Re: Official Brazil REVAMP competition [Round 2]
It's just so strange because you blew everyone away in round-1 oak. weird.

Oaks is slightly more esoteric; a map-makers map... yours is obviously more vibrant and populist.
both almost perfect of their kind and i really hope we get see the techniques of all 3, whatever happens.

I THINK ALL OF THOSE MAPS ARE OFFENSIVE!! THE REASON I SAY THAT IS BECAUSE ALL OF YOU MAPS HAVE A TERRITORY CALLED Rio "Negro" . I'm an african american and if you don't change the name of that territory I shall report you.

It means black river and doesn't refer to a race or person. Now keep quite child
Winner: Tournament of the Minds
Re: Official Brazil REVAMP competition [Round 2]
As a Brazilian, I prefer de sencond one (B). I find the first one as a view of a tourist or a foreigner.
Bright colors and trees aren't the only elements that represents the current reality of Brazil and that is why a prefer the historic approach of the second one.
However the majority of the players live in other countries, it makes sense ot have a "iconic" map of Brazil. So I wouldn't be offended if the first was chosen...
The third one doesn't look like it is finished... There still a lot of work to do on it...
This revamp is very welcome btw!

Rio Negro meets Rio Solimões and form the Amazon River (Rio Amazonas), the biggest in the world (in quantity of water), so there is nothing racist about it...
Re: Official Brazil REVAMP competition [Round 2]
I'm going to guess that the aforementioned post wasn't made in all seriousness.
This, I think, is what is going to get Rj's map the win... most users are coming in and believing "A" to be the best representation of how the world sees Brazil, and I tend to agree with them.

You are right, it is the best representation of how the world sees Brazil, it is a stereotype and therefore It would be ok to choose the first one (A) as this is a international game.
What I'm saying (in all seriousness fashion) is the second one (B) makes more sense to a Brazilian like me who lives in fourth biggest city in the world.
