Europa v2.0 - New Map

Post by Ruben Cassar »

Hello people,

I am new on the forum, however I decided to try and have a shot at making a new Europa map. I hope that I will be able to finish this project.

This is still a first draft. Note that Kaliningrad is detached from the other part of Russia so whoever wants to own the CIS region will have to gain access from the Europa Est region.

Let me know what you think about it. Thanks!

It is different from the other one, and this one includes only Europe and not North Africa as well. There are other versions of maps like USA and World so I didn't think that it would be a problem.

I think it might be, there was a previous attempt to recreate Europe and it didn't go to well. I think you will need to talk with Andy first.

Ok thanks. I sent him a private message earlier on. I'll see what he says before doing any more work on it.

Maybe you can add a new feature, like radiation in USA Apocalypse map, or the huge number of countries and bad designed subcontinents of World 2.0. As a normal map, I think we dont need this one.

But I think we need an Asia map, instead of our actual Far East map.

I will definetely be adding new features to the Europa v2.0 map. This is just a first draft to give an idea of how the countries will be divided.

I will be adding a second draft with the new features in the coming days.

In the meantime I have added a poll to gauge the forum members' opinion on the map and whether they want me to continue developing it.

I dont think we need yet another europe map. With the original and the 1914 map, Im not sure there is the room.
I think going for something that doesnt already exist is the way to go.
Maybe an Asia map like Marvaddin suggested.

I don't agree... If we could have a "state of art" Napoleonic Europe Map like this:

I am sure everyone would agree that it is a masterpeace.

Yes, I agree with dafranca.

That is Europe as Europe should be. Not with Africa.
Only us the original names of the countries.

P.S.: Look also at the new map of BeNeLux:

Yes, actually I wanted to make a Napoleonic map as well. But before I will have to finish the Malta map. Since not everyone liked the idea of Europa 2.0 I will try to make a Napoleonic Europe in the future...

I don't see why we need another Europe map. Perhaps it would be better to have a more focused map of a region of Europe, on the lines of BeNeLux?

DO NOT, under any circumstances mess with Europe, it is one of my favorite maps and one of the best visual maps we have.

Did I ever say I was going to mess with the current Europe map?

Never do that.

And, I dislike this map. Of course its beautiful, but many areas have many borders, and its strange how some countries have 7 territories, and others have 1. I think this map sucks... although we could have a new europe map if we have a new interesting feature.

1. Never do what? Care to explain?

2. This map was a first, rough draft which I am not even working on at the moment. It was my first attempt at a map several weeks ago. Someone just revived the thread. I said I might try to do a Napoleonic Europe map in the future.

3. It doesn't surprise me that you dislike the map since 99% of your posts are always negative. Do you ever like a map? Why do you comment if you have nothing constructive to say? However the graphics are much better than the blocky ones you used to make the Brazil map which really sucks big time not only in the graphics department. I think it would be more constructive if you were to revamp that map instead of writing negative, unconstructive comments on other people's drafts/maps...
