I would like this.

However not on the game finder, like "game name:"

This would HAVE to be for premiums only because it could be used for abuse from frees naming it: "real time game"

What do you mean there? What would be wrong with free peeps from naming "Real Time"? I'm probably just having a blonde moment...

Realtime games are not Sanctioned as a game style, so they shouldn't be labeled as such

I still believe that this should be a Premium only feature, even if RT was a game type

Tournament Game Label Available for ALL Games

Post by Kotaro »

Concise description:
  • When making tournament games, you are given the Optional choice of adding a Game Label to the title. For tournaments, this allows you to sort by "Round 1, Round 2", or whatever else you want. However, my idea would be to allow all games the ability to add these titles.

Specifics:
  • Normally, it says "Tournament Game: (Game Label or Lack of)". Adding the labels of "Public Game: (Game Label)" to all public games.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • Allowing for people to declare whether or not their games are RT, making cool titles for challenges outside of Tournaments (Clan Challenges, regular Callouts against people), as well as allowing people to put "Real Time" or "Not Real Time" in their labels, so people know what to expect and can filter appropriately.

I don't support this. The whole point is to easily distinguish tournament games from others. If you want a way to delineate real time and normal time games, there are far better ways to do it. If the ability to label games is given to everyone it will be abused.

So how would you suggest it be done? Post in the forums that about 20% of players look at? Or maybe I should just send out mass PM's when I decide to make mass public games, saying "THIS IS NOT A RT DON'T JOIN IT THINKING SO"?

Please, tell me of these many ways I can tell people it's not a RT before they join, and without mass PMing them or posting in a Callouts forum that few look at.

Well, if I have time I'll expound later, but opening up game labels to all players is not the answer. That I can assure you.

WHY CAN'T WE PUT A NAME ON GAMES?

Post by Jippd »

This would be helpful for speed games. IE if I want to play with someone that is going to play RT, I can say that in the game title. Or if I higher rank player wants to play with say a LT and above only etc etc. It would be advantageous. Thoughts?

Aren't speed games rt by definition?

its a good idea. be able to create a game that only a specific person can join. even without a password. this can be helpful for tournament organizers also

Nice thought and all, but it wouldn't prevent people from joining if they didn't want to follow your title.

Organizers can already do it.

Just use chat or callouts to set up the types of games you want. I think if regular games had labels, there would just be more complaining about people not playing rt or other things.

Moved to Sugs/Bugs.

This aint necassary for tournaments. And that makes my premium not even getting closer. I can make private games now. If I want them now I need premium for it, I do support it in the way I dont have premium and wanne make private games. But i dont support in a way that it is a premium option and should stay it.

Add a headline option when starting a game.

Post by Sir Riddick »

It would be nice to create a bar in the start a game menu which allows members (premium of course ;) to
Type in a headliner for the game their creating.
It could be useful for a quick memo to those joining and those creating.

Examples:
- Do not join if you only got an hour to play!
- Rank above corporal preferably and respectfully.
- No Deadbeats or 4 minute turns please!
- This game is NOT freestyle!
- etc...

I understand rank option has been rejected. This is a good alternative for that aswell.

Yes! Just to add, clan leaders could say Clan Challenge.
Also this is another thing for premiums

I like it. I think I suggested this, or something like it, when I first came here, but it got shot down... Something about cluttering up the page.

There is already a "Game Label" feature available when making tournament games, seems like all you need to do is allow this to happen on casual games as well.

Seems like an idea that would not be that hard to implement.

My only addition would be to have the titles expire from the active game search dropdown box over some time or that list might get really huge.

Suggestion : --> 22 character limit game desciption

Post by army of nobunaga »

Why not a small little game description for the person that creates a game...

stuff like

Game Desc. : Real time only please
: New players only please
: Im a real jerk warning you now
: Im just looking for girls
: Please no noobs

get it?

Just a small description to label each match.

whatcha think?
