The Last Post. Another Server Rant

<For anyone that i have played against since i joined 'cc' last January, thankyou. I have really enjoyed meeting some nice people, playing a great strategic game and the thrill of rising up and crashing down the ranks. I had posted a Forum piece a month or so ago, 'Server down and so is my rank' in which i expressed as calmly as possible the annoyance of server down and 'timed out' games whilst on the brink of multiple 1v1 speed game victories.
Well the problem that 'CC' has with its server continues and seems amost to be a daily occurrence, and worse at weekends. This has been such an endless and frustrating event that i have decided to leave 'CC'. I cannot believe that i am the only person that has this problem and i think that 'CC' should find someway of reinstating points lost by players who through no fault of their own, lose them! Surely Game records could back up a players request? I sincerly hope that CC manage to solve the server problem as in every other regard they do a great job, after all i play for fun and entertainment, when it becomes annoying, whats the point? I would,nt go to the cinema very often if the film kept stopping with only minutes to go!
Once again kind regards to all the great players of the game that beat me gently and the ones i was lucky enough to get great dice against.

A post script.... Thanks for the posts, as the first post said, i 'wont be able to live without 'CC'. its only been a few hours since my rant and i thought to myself, i'll just checkout how some of my friends are doing. Several hours later and with a couple of trouble free wins under my belt i have of course re-considered my departure. If you guys come agross me in a game please feel free in welcoming me back to the fold.

I honestly cannot say I have experienced anything like that. But if you have then I can understand you, hope you find peace of mind somewhere else.

If your speed games continually time out perhaps you have a crappy connection? I can easily say that I have not experienced server issues in a long, long time. Actually as far as I am aware the server performance stats are far, far beyond what they need to performace effectivly with the current load of the site.

You're lucky. You never had this promblem before. If your server cannot connect to CC's for 10 seconds (like mine always does cause I have satellite internet cause I live in the middle of freakin NOWHERE) then your connection has timed out. Especially annoying during a freestyle game where after you reconnect, somebody has stolen your prey. xD

I get slow connection problems on an occasional basis, and when it's bad it sucks. I've had to learn to just leave it a few hours and come back later. I did do a poll not so long ago, but can't find the thing, darn it! About 2/5ths or more of the voters agreed with me. The problem hits game loads, screen updates after reinforcements and attacks, which all time out. "Shift & refresh" are the only options half the time.

If you were trying to play a speed game with this going on it'd completely ruin the experience, so you have my sympathies.

I have gotten a js alert after 10 seconds, asking if I want to wait for it to load, it doesn't happen often, but perhaps in my 4-8 games I have played, I have seen it happen 10 times, especially when I have a slow connection. The alert just asks if I want to keep waiting, which I usually say yes to, then sometimes I usually go through 2-3 of the 10 second alerts before it finally loads. Now if I click refresh it's usually instant.

So I don't quite understand. The browser times out or the game? What keeps you from just going back in?
