Ranks display

Well i always wondered about the ranks, because are incorectly displayed.
For example the sgt. rank looks more lice a cpl. rank and the leutenant like a sgt. and the way the "v" should be pointed like this "^", because represents a masculine ideea.
The thing with the "V" form it is the simbol of Venus, of the feminin part.
It's ridicuolus in a man worls with ranks like this!

The 'V' is how the British army display stripes.

But I do agree that the order is wrong a bit.
I always thought
1 stripe = private or lance corporal (depending on regiment)
2 stripes = corporal
3 stripes = sergeant

2 V - Corporal
3 V - Sarge
3 ^ - Master sarge
V
1 horizontal stripe - Luietenent
1 flower shape - Major
5 stars in a circle - Deputy
