Re: Vampire Mafia for begginers- Day 1.
Ha, strokem doing the 'don't lynch me, you'll regret it!' trick. I would call it a scum tell except most scum tells aren't actually scum tells. I'm not going to give you the benefit of the doubt this time because I've seen that action too often which has actually turned out to be scum.
As for you squirrel, very nice post. Explained yourself well and has probably caused the shift to go to strokem. However, I'm going to leave my vote on you because I'm not totally convinced of your innocence. With the question on the cult, I've seen them have two members at the start of the game. Usually a recruiter but also a worthless follower.
That's all I can post cause I'm on my phone so can't do so much.

ok I am sorry I haven't been as active in this thread. I have been playing more risk and also some rt mafia games, so it is hard to keep up with everything on here along with stuff in real life. go ahead and vote me out. but you will be sorry you are trying to lynch a big asset for every one of my fellow townies. I don't feel I should have to divulge who I am as of yet, but if any of you are big into movies....
just remember sometimes that there are worse things out at night than vampires. and besides, What the hell makes you think you know about huntin' vampires?
I know skittles and everyone else will say I'm doing this to try to separate myself from you, but vote stroke. Stroke, your reply is less than satisfying to skittles' attack on you. Anyone can claim to hold a power role so your reply is pretty much worthless. If you want to get yourself out of this, you better give a pretty good defense of your actions. That is the only way anyone will believe you are a townie.
Let me stress that this is not an RT game. RT games are mainly for quick jokes and hardly anyone takes them seriously. In a long game like this, reason and logic are what matters. People don't just lynch in these games for the fun of it. RT games are fun and they help you nail the basics, but they require no strategy or thought whatsoever and are played in a completely different way.

Seconded with squirrel's assessment about the difference between non-rt and rt games. I was going to have a go before but i withheld from it.

it seems everyone has their sights set on lynching me. go ahead if you really feel like it. I don't care. this is just a game so it really doesn't matter to me. and since it was the first mafia game i ever joined I was just trying to get a feel for how things were played. but now that it seems whatever I say everyone tries to twist it around back at me I have basically just said screw this game. maybe if I actually decide I would like to stay around and play mafia again, besides a few rts every now and again I will take the longer games more seriously. I got myself into some early suspicion by being too aggressive though having seen the movies that my character is based on I felt that he usually takes that kind of stances. He is a man of action. But that is besides the point now. As for trying to defend myself against all my accusers I am not going to even try going back and hitting every one of them. I am a vigilante townie, thats all I am going to say. If you don't like my response then go ahead and lynch me to see I am telling the truth. Oh and btw obviously noone took the time to look up my movie hints in one of my earlier posts or they would have seen why I acted like I have.

I'm suggesting to everyone not to vote strokem now, unless they themselves wish to be seem as scum. With Strokem's role claim, it's good not to target him now. A newbie wouldn't know that, I don't think.
Anyway, strokem, when you feel under pressure you don't just give up. You need to defend yourself, as you did this time. That is good. You don't just go 'screw this game' and give up, because you'll never fully commit to mafia if that. And as for your movie hints, I'm sure I know what your role name is now. Central to vampire hunting.. And you don't have to actually take on what the character is like.

Just googled strokes little hints and I guess he is some kind of Blade-like vampire hunter. So I'd say leave him be we want to see some dead vamps.

I don't think you want to get in the middle of this. My personal vendetta to see the annihilation of all vamps does not keep me from removing all obstacles from my path. That includes mister colors-of-the-rainbow and your furry-tailed little friend too.
You can see that strokem is just playing his role by the way he speaks.

FOS Squirrel. He's changed his vote a couple of times and seems dead set on voting Strokem. Strokem is also in the lead to be lynched with 3 votes. So a bit bandwagonee?

Stroke's claim seems plausible and I think Mr. Squirrel doesn't deserve a vote yet.
@stroke: getting a certain character as role does not mean that you have to talk/play like they would. As you see, it is not in the town's best interest (and you get caught if you're scum/third party).

Just a forewarning guys, I'm not going to "deadbeat" this mafia game, but there may be times I don't post for a bit - the amount of PMs I'm getting and having to reply to lately, with the whole DM thing and the sh!t hitting the fan site-wide is taking up a lot of my reading time.
As for the unfolding of events, I'm taking the FOS away from stroke. I'm no longer convinced he's scum, though I'm pretty sure he's not vanilla. I can't be sure about anyone right now, there's about 4-5 people I hae an eye on as scum, but there's not much to go on.

This is probably the worst thing to do in this game. The vampires are likely to have some cult element, and if they recruit tonight we're just one step closer to defeat. We need to lynch someone for information, and maybe get lucky and hit a vamp.

I think we need to come up with a list of the scummiest people so far, lynch one of them, I can night kill another and then we can continue on from there. If we are really lucky we may even get two vamps out of the way early in the game. any suggestions guys?

Ugh, okay, my raw suspicions are captainwalrus, masterchief, MeDeFe, and I'm a little suspect of Skittles but I wouldn't attest to it. They are very raw suspicions just based on how often they post, what they post, and how often they vote. I couldn't make a convincing case against any of them

I've heard that from people before, that No Lynch is the worst thing, never understood it. If we lynch a townie, and the vamps kill someone, we're down two. If we don't lynch, we're down 1. Sure, it's not aggressive play, but it's not risky either.
