• Virgin Islands climbs again to 4th place, only 2 points behind Bulgaria in 3rd
• India re-enters the Top 16 in Joint 14th
• United States, Czech Republic and Iceland all jump up to 8th, Joint 9th and 11th respectively
• The Grand Final of Event 1 begins! Best of luck to Ethiopia, Bulgaria, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Iceland and Australia

In addition to the 104 points earned for getting to the final of Event 1, the following points will be awarded to the medal positions:

Gold Medal - Lithuania - madman7 (7 consecutive wins)
Silver Medal - Switzerland - musicalmaven (6 wins out of 8 matches)
Bronze Medal - Thailand - heatz (5 wins out of 8 matches)

These 3 players also take the Top 3 spots on the Leaderboard, with 422, 400 and 396 points respectively.

Congratulations to the above players! Events 1 and 2 are nearing completion, and Events 5 and 6 aren't too far off either. Some big points will be dished out soon - keep an eye on the table!

I would love to view your table to see how everyone is going in this tournament including me. Unfortunately imageshack is blocked in China, don't know why but is. So have no idea what is happening or where I stand. I know this is only a minor inconvenience to me, but would love to see your results table.

I'm currently moving house with very limited internet access, so this tournament will resume around September 5th!

Update: 8th September

• Events 1 and 4 (USA and USA New England) are complete - see the first post for the medal winners!
• Events 2 and 6 (France and Africa) are both currently at the Final stage - look out for more medal winners soon!
• Event 5 (Canada) is nearing the final stages now. Thailand and Russia are through to the Semi Finals, and South Africa and Romania are currently awaiting their opponents in the Quarter Finals.
• Event 7 (Puget Sound) has been making quick progress recently. Virgin Islands is the first country through to the Quarter Finals, and most Round 3 matches are complete.
• Event 8 (Indochina) is currently in Round 2, with only 24 players knocked out so far.
• Bulgaria is currently top of the leaderboard with 498 points, and Lithuania isn't very far behind with 470.
• There's a little gap between the top 2 and the rest of the leaderboard, but with potential big wins coming up for Virgin Islands (4th place, 426), Czech Republic (5th place, 418), Russia (6th place, 400) and Thailand (7th place, 396) that could all change!
• Events 9 and 10 will begin very shortly! (See first post for details of Event 9!)

The latest scoreboard has been posted! See first page. We're now down to 60 players, so only the Top 15 will be posted, but most of the 16th-30th group are pretty close together!

Here's a round-up of each event:

• Events 1, 2, 4 and 6 have all finished - check the first page for Medal Winners
• Event 3 is part of the Women's Biathlon, which will continue when we get to Event 26
• Event 5 - There is just one more game still in play in Round 4, which will lead to the last Quarter-Final. The current Semi-Finalists are Chinese Taipei, Russia and Thailand
• Event 7 - There are a couple of games left in Rounds 3 and 4. One of the Semi-Finals has finished, with Denmark guaranteed at least a Silver Medal, and Virgin Islands through to the Bronze Medal Play-Off
• Event 8 - Only one game still going on in Round 2, and six countries are already through to Round 4 (they are Iceland, Ireland, Tajikistan, Luxembourg, Sweden and Czech Republic)
• Event 9 - Round 1 is almost complete, with 46/48 games finished, and 4 of the 8 Play-Offs have just begun
• Event 10 has just started! Finish 1st or 2nd and you'll be through to the next round, otherwise you'll be sent to the Play-Offs!
