Initech VII: Asia & Pacific [Winner: Jobiwan]
For some reason I have the urge to take on even more tournaments (perhaps because two of them have deadlocked games right now--so there's not much do in those other than wait)...
So, here’s the announcement for Initech VII: Asia & Pacific. Like all Initech tournaments, this one is flat rate, chained, sequential and foggy. And, shockingly, it takes place entirely on maps in Asia or the Pacific. This one is standard games only. All other details follow. Let me know if you have any questions.
OVERVIEW
2-round, 55-game tournament. All players guaranteed eleven games. Max games for an individual player is 22. Games will be 4-player in the first round and 5-player in the finals.
ELIGIBLE PLAYERS
Premium only, sorry. You'll need more than 4 games open at all times.
RULES
All games will be Sequential, Chained, Flat Rate, Foggy
All games will be standard.
MAPS
There will be eleven (11) maps used. They are as follows:
Asia, Australia, Cairns Coral Coast, Greater China, Hong Kong, Indochina, Middle East, Philippines, Soviet Union, Indian Empire, Oceania.
ROUNDS
Round 1 will consist of five 4-player groups, for a total of 20 players. Each group will play 11 games—one each on the maps listed above. Whoever wins the most games advances to the finals.
The Final Group will consist of 5 players and the same maps with the same settings will be repeated. The player with the most wins after the 11 games conclude will be the tournament champion.
SEEDINGS
Once I have 20 entrants, I will divide everyone into four pots by points/rank. One person from each pot will randomly go into each first round group.
TIEBREAKERS
In the first round, the first tiebreaker will be the fewest number of rounds it took to achieve the wins by each player. The second tiebreaker will be a head-to-head game on the Asia map, with tournament settings.
In the final round, the first tiebreaker will be the total number of wins in the tournament. The second tiebreaker will be the fewest number of rounds it took to achieve the wins in the final round by each player. The third tiebreaker will be a head-to-head game on the Asia map.
Good luck to those that join and feel free to post or PM any questions you might have.
