3 in a row to boot is too many.

Post by EmperorBrak »

Just wondering if it's ever come up that 3 turns in a row to get booted from a game is too many. I keep getting in games where newbs are on and abandon for whatever reason. How about 2 turns then out?

Thoughts?

Thanks

its been overdiscussed....lack wants to keep the game inviting to new players who cant always make their turns...the only deadbeaters that really bother me are the ones who leave you hanging as your partner

Ah Jeez - search the forums man! We've already had this argument so many times and the conclusion is usually that 3 turns is the right number. The reason: LIFE HAPPENS and in life, SHIT HAPPENS. :x

I agree. I may be a newbie , but 3 can take way to long if you want to open another game.

I have no problem with 3 turns, but why not 3 total turns instead of 3 consecutive turns?

I say if someone misses a turn then only give them, (in a sequential game) 12 hours for their next turn then boot-em

If it was two turns then all you folks would be saying boot them after one missed turn.

There are games which go on for hundreds of turns, for those games, missing 3 isnt too hard.

Three turns total in the first 5 rounds for any new recruit, or they're booted at Round 6.

Almost anybody that wants to play is going to make 3 of their first 5 turns in a game.

If it was dropped to two turns you wouldn't be able to go away for a weekend. I'm pretty sure that's the reason it was originally set at 3 consecutive turns.

I say you get booted after ONE missed turn, if the missed turn is your first turn in Round One. After round one, you get booted after two consecutive missed turns, or three non consecutive missedturns at any point after round 1

I think maybe in the f/b rating or something there should be a new category for turns missed

Yes, that would get rid of most deadbeats, if a missed turn in round 1 will immediately throw them out. Another advantage is that if such a player is your teammember you don't have to wait 3 turns for his armies, and you will still have a chance in a teamgame.

Maybe also with a missed turn in round 2 you should kick them out, as sometimes deadbeats are the 1st player to play, so they play the first round but don't return after that.

From 3rd round you can do it like it is now.

I once was in a 3 team doubles game with 5 deadbeats. The game lasted more than 2 weeks now before it was finished. :?

I'm fine with three missed turns in a singles game, but when it comes to teams I agree that three is a bit much. If your hurting yourself by not playing that's one thing, but when your hurting a fellow team member or members it becomes rude. If your going on vacation, and can't play, don't start new games the week before your going to leave. Seems like common sense to me.

So far out of the 25 games I've completed, and the 10 i'm currently involved in, a dead beat slowing the game down for more than a round has only happened once. Mabye it happens more often than I know, but to me it doesn't seem like it's that much of a problem.
