MudPuppy takes an early 2UP lead with four holes completed...WPBRJ kept it close with an 11-round win on the opening North America hole. The golfers are heading down the seventh fairway and moving toward the turn.

All right...the championship match has made the turn with MudPuppy at 3UP through 12 holes. Good match to finish things up.

Look for another Match-Play golf tourney next spring/summer.

My next tourney will be 2009-10 College Hoops so look for signups coming up near the end of the month.

WPBRJ stays alive by winning holes 14 & 15, cutting MudPuppy's lead to 2UP with three to play...those last three holes have been sent out..

congratulations to our tourney winner — MudPuppy.

Well done in one of the most challenging 1 vs. 1 tourneys I have ever put together...you had to perform on so many different maps!!!

After rolling through some early wins that barely required him to set foot on the back-nine, MudPuppy faced a strong challenge from shoop76 in the third round. MudPuppy rallied to win the final three holes to take the match 1UP.

His closest battle came in the semifinals where he went to a tiebreaker to beat Don 1 based on taking halved holes on South America and CCU. Still, MudPuppy needed wins on 5 of the last 7 holes to pull even and put the tiebreaker in effect.

MudPuppy got off to a fast start in the finals, winning five straight holes during one stretch to take a 3UP lead into the turn. WPRBJ had his back to the wall, but was staying alive with wins on the 14th, 15th and 16th holes before MudPuppy closed out the match with an 8-round win on the French map.

Thanks to everyone who played...this was a smooth tourney and deadbeats weren't a problem. I'll probably throw something similar together next spring/summer. My next tourney is 2009-10 College Hoops...look for that on the tourney thread in the next couple weeks

Note: tourney stats are listed for all players in the top post on the thread.

JCKing had the highest hole winning percentage going 48-32 (.632) for the tournament, while tourney champ MudPuppy finished with the most hole wins ending with a 59-37 (.615) record.

The first blue long designates Top-10 players...the second blue line marks the Top-25 cutoff...63 total players in this tourney.

Congratulations, an impressive 1 v 1 achievement. This tourney sorted the men from the boys on 1 v1.
