Also, a very nice update. I may try out one of these assassin games this weekend.

I don't think Lack has any intention in making this a 'Premium Member' only site. Free accounts will always be welcome.

That's right, as of March 31 I'll be making a career out of maintaining this website. It's hard to leave behind a stable IT job at McGill University and the great people that I work with... but man, I'm really excited to plow through the infamous to-do list and conquer the world of online global domination casual multiplayer gaming. If you have not yet purchased Premium Membership you may have to soon so I can pay my rent but don't worry, I won't get you with guilt. I'll get you with sweet improvements month after month

Of course, I am the same guy who promised you a big fat Xmas update...

I was referring to the bolded part. From the way it's worded, it would seem that a premium account would be required in the future.

Good job Lack, it takes a lot of courage to leave a steady job and do this full-time, and I will be doing all I can to make sure you don't go bankrupt!

VGM, that was Lackattack's poor attempt at a joke.

Basically this site will become his income, thus paying his rent. ;)

After the updagrade, something's going wrong with time...

Post by c2nr »

Before the upgrade, time in game logs was shown according to my timezone settings (GMT).

Now, is is shown in GMT-6, although I've checked my profile and the timezone is correct (ie still GMT). :(

Any idea why this happens :?:

OK, but is it possible that 2 players have each other as the target, so for instance red has green and green has red. And if that is possible, what happens when 1 deadbeats? Because you will get his target, which is yourself. :?:

Brilliant lack - I'm sure this latest update (assassin games especially) could make for some interesting games. Can't wait for the rest of it to come through...

Thanks for all the kinds words, guys :D

I'm editing out that part of the anouncement where I joke about premium. I don't want people to think I'm going to force them to pay.

Regarding assassin targets, they are always assigned in a single cyclical permutation like the illustration below. Your target will never have you as their target (unless everyone else in the game was a deadbeat)

As for the timezone bug, I'll look into it tomorrow!

Thank you lack. :)

And something else: How can I change the country in my profile; it reflects my current location rather than my nationality.

I'm guessing in 3 player assassin games, everyone's target is no secret. If red's target is blue (and blue's target cannot be red, for if blue is a deadbeat, red's target would be himself), then blue's target must be green, and green's target red.

So then everyone knows who to eliminate and who to protect....

Also interesting ---> in a three player game, the player who you're trying to protect is the player who wants your blood!

But I think playing a 3 player assassin game almost defeats the purpose of the game type.

Scoring in Assassin works like anything else? When the target is taken out, one player gets all the points and everyone else loses? Or does only the target lose and the other players end in a sort of draw?

Scoring in assassin works just like a standard game: Winner takes all.

Which makes protecting those who are not YOUR target vitally important .
e.g.:

Check the chat and observe how a lack of understanding bought what was looking like a great game to a sudden screeching halt!
