Portugal is west of Calais.
Also, I think we can assume he is in France, so we shouldn't waste a question asking that, we should try to figure out mainland France or Corsica.
Obviously Portugal is west of Calais. Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere. That's a true statement but irrelevant.
We can't assume he's in France, yet.

Yes lack is in france or Italy, since Italy is south of Lyon and east of calais.

Right, I thought 72o said west of, not "not west."Is lack on mainland France? Remember, Corsica is part of France

That eliminates about 100km of French coastline. Not enough.

Why don't we just eliminate Corsica and ask if he's on mainland France?

To split the French coast in half, how about we ask "is Lack east of 45°56'22" E Longitude (The west edge of the docks at Fos-Sur-Mer)?

that only splits the southern coast of france, it also includes all the east and northern coasts of france,
although it is unlikely that the picture is from the north or east coasts
maybe first ask
is lack on the southern coast of france?

is lack on the southern coast of france? Well, the only bit of coast on the north side is the tiny bit that is East of Calais, from a few questions ago.
Seems kinda unlikely that Lack would be up there.
I'll let someone else second it. I'm just not sure.

We all ready know Lack is south of Lyon.

So I second this, unless we can split the coast up better with a north south but Ican't see how to do this as we'll just end up with chunks.

It restricts lacks location to being approximately west of Saint Raphael. Draw a line at 90 degrees from Fos-Sur-Mer and you'll see whereabouts.
