Any Axis & Allies players here?

Post by Shakebot »

This was a great game, not as good as Risk, but great none the less. The best part about getting this game, was the cool game pieces that it came with, of course after the 2 hours it took to pull them off the rack they come on.

Never played, looked it up on Wikipedia (bout the same time I looked at Risk), seems interesting, but I got no one to play with.

Games like that are superior to risk but finding people who know how to or want to play them is very problamatic. The only time I found one was where two brothers and their parents all played it. Some other good ones are Samurai Swords(or Shogun), Spies, or Pax Britannica. They all provide more strategy because of more depth in the rules but are quick plays once they are understood.

I'm currently working on a web version. I haven't figured out if there are any legal issues yet though.

A great game if you have the time to set everything up and go over all the rules. And have exactly 5 people

Hey, I have not yet realy played Axis & Allies, but I have seen a few games beeing play by some of my friends. And it looks intence. But Gambit when you get an online version up and running, i would love to learn. Right now I'm travaling around Canada a lot so I dont have the chance to find people who are playing it and I dont have room to pack the game around. But I would love to learn.

On a side note: dose any one know Red Star/White Star? Thats one that I loved playing....once again I'm travaling so I don't have it with me, and of cosre i cant play.....

Actually in the origional america can't afford to fight on both fronts and japan can win if they attack hawaii the first turn...I found the europe and pacific versions to be too gimmicky to have replays, although the artillery and destroyer units are very good ideas. Soviet Union ftw
