All right, interest mushroomed after Highlander sent out to his contact list, so I've expanded the field to 20 teams to give most of you a spot...if you signed up but didn't get in, I'll put you on a reserve list.

That means each round-robin pool will have five teams instead of four...still the top two in each pool will move onto the semifinals.

I have full lineups for Tyler, TEX and Amherst, WI
I need pitching staffs for San Diego, Brisbaine and Cairo
If you aren't one of the above teams, I'll need you to submit a lineup by Wednesday, Aug. 11 or I will just randomly assign spots for your team. I'll send out a reminder to teams sometime before the weekend or thereabout.

Thanks for signing up...let's have some fun...Play should start middle of next week.

All right, I've posted the standings board, so you know what group you are in. Also included is a schedule for the round-robin play. You will play each team in your group once AND because we have an odd # of teams instead of giving out byes, you will face one team in the other division, as well. That gives each team a total of five pool-play games.

Top two in each pool advance.

Also posted in the opening thread are the lineups...so check your team. If it has blank spots that means you still need to set a lineup. Agree on what you like and have a team captain report it to me by early this week. I'll be randomly assigning batting orders and pitchers for those not set by Wednesday.

thanks and have fun, flex

Hey flex, just noticed something I had a question about...

On your sample scoring, the #3 batter hits a Double with men on 1st and 2nd, but you have the man on 1st rounding 3 bases and scoring on the play. Does this mean that a Double always equals 3 bases for the runners? Or should that batter have stopped at 3rd until the #6 batter brings him in with the Single?

SAMPLE SCORING...
#1 -- Hitter wins in 8 rounds -- Single
#2 -- Hitter wins in 11 rounds -- Walk, runner at 1st moves to 2nd
#3 -- Pitcher wins in 6 rounds -- Strikeout, 1st out
#4 -- Hitter wins in 7 rounds -- Double, two runners advance to score
#5 -- Pitcher wins in 10 rounds -- Line-out, 2nd out
#6 -- Hitter wins in 10 rounds -- Single, runner at 2nd moves to 3rd
#7 -- Pitcher wins in 12 rounds -- Fly out, 3rd out inning finished

On a double, a runner will score from 1st base.

I have full line-ups for 11 of the teams...

I still need pitching assignments for the Monterrey Stingrays

I still need full lineups for...
Charleston
Jenks
Harrisburg
Denver
Edmonton
Berlin
Santiago and
Barcelona

I'll need those by the morning or I'll randomly assign the slots for those teams.
We'll be starting this tournament on Wednesday, Aug. 11.

*Also of note, once a lineup is approved it must be played throughout the next game, but teams can make changes between games if they wish. Just make sure you get those changes to me before the next game starts.

Lineups have been set and are posted in the top post on the thread. Games will be coming out throughout the day today until all of the first round-robin games are active.

Good luck and have fun all, flex

PS -- The listed lineups are set for the first game...teams cannot shift players around until Game 2.

A slight change to the hitting tables...A fielder's choice has been added if the pitcher wins in round 6...this means that the hitter reaches first safely, but the lead runner is tagged out. If there is no runner on base, then it results in the hitter being thrown out at first.

Looking forward to this tourney, Flex. Hoping I can channel my inner slugger as we get underway (I'm going to try to take a page from a kid who plays for the Jersey state team, in a regional game this week he hit for the cycle in homeruns in a single game!

One final tweak on the offensive side...a double (win in 7 rounds) allows each base-runner to advance two bases, so a runner from second would score, while a runner at 1st would move over to 3rd. This will make a larger gap between hitting a triple and a double...the scoring example has been updated. The hitting/pitching box is now finalized.

That's just how it works out...those kind of #s balance out over time. There are a lot of maps in play for one Little League game is this tourney, so those kind of things should even out...that's the idea behind many of my tourneys anyway.
