which continent are natal swaziland and zululand apart of? the way you did the trading routes makes it look like the symbol is a country, i guess with numbers there will be little confusion
Highest Score: 1843 Ranking (Australians): 3

Those are independent countries - no bonus.

General tip: Always put the most recent version of your map on the first post of your thread.
As for the map I like the idea but you have to work on those colours because they hurt my eyes. Also improve the graphics for starters.

not knowing the history of the region that well, this might be a dumb idea, but would it make sense for Orange free state to be the orange continent?
Also, I'd agree with the post about toning down the colours a little, maybe choosing a set of colours that are complimentary... At the moment I'm starting to get hyperactive just looking at them!

What else? Could this become a map? What type of work does it need?

i ike the map being posted throughout the thread aswell (if possible, so then it keeps the posts in context and we can see speed/quality of development, the difference between (naming no names DiM and qwert). But i can barely read the namesof the territories and the names opn the legend are totally inelegible im not even going to bother trying to read them.

Colours are certainly better.
Need to work on that font though. The black with yellow outline is cruel.

New font is good, and I like how the mountains look.
Maybe make the lake at the top of Pretoria larger.
Some of the angled text could be straightened, even if the text overlaps some borders. That island on the right for example.
I presume the trees are impassable borders?
Cheers, Gozar

Trees are impassable, correct. I will work on straightening out the fonts in the next update after I get more suggestions.
What else? What needs to be done so this can be a map?

I am not one to comment on territories and bonuses, I will leave that for others.
Try some cosmetic stuff. Touch up your trees. Take the flag off the compass and put it under the title. Put a regular compass or a graphic in its place. Your lake and river water look different. Something about the rivers too.
Brushing up this kind of stuff may help grab more eyes to your map.
Keep going.

in general its a little tough on the eyes and doesn't look very professional, that is fixable, but its gonna take some time and work
